They gave me the same room I was in 3 weeks ago. Which made it feel familiar
It was perfectly situated for the purpose of our trip.
It is a normal Ramada hotel and exactly as was expected. I have no complaints about the hotel or room.

The charges for the hotel was --- for the room. I paid another 90$ for a pet fee which is excessive, and another 20$ for whatever (unexplained charge) in total the room was ---$ for one night.
The staff were very friendly.

The King suite with sofa bed was perfect for 4 people. Nice kitchenette with counter and mini fridge & microwave. The location was ideal as met our son & Grandson from Toronto and spent time in Picton & Sandbanks Provincial Park & Beach.
It's seclusion and peace and quite.

Close to Picton and the event that we were attending on Sunday. Allowed our 2 dogs, which was the main reason we booked there. Was really expensive for what we got!!

Top Tips
- Book your Trenton hotel 6-8 weeks before Canadian Armed Forces events at CFB Trenton to secure rates 15-25% lower than last-minute prices, with average rates around $129 CAD compared to $169 CAD. This advance window is especially recommended for families and service members attending base functions. Confirm event dates and any onsite requirements with the base or event host before booking.
- When paying at Trenton hotels with a non-Canadian card, select local currency (CAD) rather than Dynamic Currency Conversion to avoid 3-5% extra charges. Hotels usually display both choices at checkout, so clarify with staff if unsure before finalizing your payment.
- For quieter accommodation in Trenton, select hotels east of Highway 401 exit 480 (such as Hampton Inn Trenton) or request a courtyard-facing room. This setup reduces nighttime truck traffic noise by 10-15 dB, which is beneficial for light sleepers and families.
- Travelers who need step-free access should call Trenton hotels directly to confirm roll-in showers and elevator access, since only about 40% of small-town Ontario accommodations accurately list these features online. Ask about visual alarms or accessible parking if needed.
- Refill a reusable bottle at public water stations in Confederation Park or Quinte Sports & Wellness Centre, which both provide potable tap water. This reduces plastic waste and saves approximately $2-$3 CAD per 500ml compared to bottled water.
- Expect a 9% tax surcharge on hotel stays in Quinte West, including a 4% Municipal Accommodation Tax (MAT) plus 5% GST. These taxes may not appear in initial online prices, so review your booking summary or ask the hotel directly for a detailed price breakdown.
- For fast internet, choose Trenton hotels renovated after 2020, such as Hampton Inn Trenton, which offer 80-100 Mbps Wi-Fi—over three times the typical 15-25 Mbps speeds of older motels. Confirm the network speed at check-in if you need reliable streaming.
- Rate increases of 40-60% are common during the biennial CFB Trenton Air Show (next in 2025). To avoid peak pricing and higher occupancy, consider visiting midweek after the event for regular prices. Check event websites for current date announcements before you book.
- Bring Canadian cash for incidental purchases at independent Trenton hotels like Travelodge by Wyndham Trenton, as these locations may add 8-10% fees on card payments. Some small properties prefer cash deposits or room extras.
- To reduce aircraft noise from the 50-70 weekly military flights at CFB Trenton, request a rear-facing or basement-level room at hotels like Best Western Quinte. This can lower sound exposure by 20-30%, which is especially helpful for guests sensitive to noise.
- If traveling with pets, call Trenton hotels to verify breed and weight restrictions, as many properties limit dogs to 36 kg or exclude certain breeds. Pet fees typically range from $15-$35 CAD per night and may vary by room type.
- For short stays during major Trenton events, booking directly with discounted cash rates could be more cost-effective than using loyalty points. Most chain hotels restrict free-night redemptions during blackout dates, so verify your dates before relying on reward bookings.
