Setting in a nice village . Pleasant grounds. Room was good. Loved the walk in shower Staff were kind and helpful
We arrived late and asked for a king bed because the third person in our room hadn't come after all. They said it was no problem, which I appreciated. They actually ended up upgrading us to a massive suite with the most amazing shower. It was really great

Top Tips
- Reserve hotels 2 to 3 months ahead for fall foliage season (September-November), as rates near wedding venues typically surge 20-30%. This anticipates high demand and helps lock in lower prices. For peak weekends or major nearby events, set a reminder to book even earlier for the best availability.
- Hotels in downtown Rochester are just 10-15 minutes from Pittsford by car and offer more nightlife and dining. For a quieter local vibe, choose the town center in Pittsford, which is walkable to cafes and shops. Venues like The Little Theatre or Erie Grill in neighboring communities are top picks for entertainment or dining.
- University of Rochester events, such as graduation or homecoming, can drive a 10-20% spike in hotel prices. Before booking, check the campus event calendar for major dates: https://www.rochester.edu/events/calendar.
- Hotel loyalty programs such as Hilton Honors or Marriott Bonvoy let frequent Rochester visitors earn points toward free nights. Enrollment is free; sign up before booking to unlock immediate member rates or perks and verify benefits at check-in, as these can vary by brand.
- Expect an 8% sales tax on all hotel bookings in Monroe County, including Pittsford. This is added at checkout and is standard across the entire county. Check for 'tax-inclusive' pricing on booking sites to avoid surprise charges.
- Select hotels with recognized sustainability certifications, such as LEED or Green Seal - for example, RIT Inn and Conference Center - to support responsible practices during your stay. Request information at check-in about onsite green amenities or eco-friendly initiatives.
- Hotels such as Hampton Inn & Suites Rochester/Victor offer complimentary parking, saving $15-20 per day compared to downtown options where parking fees apply. Confirm parking availability during large local events to ensure space is guaranteed.
- Use major online travel agencies like Expedia or Booking.com, which offer price matching to secure competitive rates. Price match requests usually require screenshot evidence at the time of booking; review each site's specific price match rules to ensure your claim is valid.
- Book 2 to 3 months early for major U.S. holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas, when Pittsford hotel rates can spike 35-50%. Early booking locks in better rates. Combine early booking with loyalty program benefits for additional savings.
- Stay in Pittsford’s historic downtown for easier access to shops, restaurants, and the Erie Canal Aqueduct. These hotels cost 15-25% more than nearby suburban properties. Eateries such as Erie Grill and local attractions like Schoen Place are within walking distance.
- During Pittsford’s Lilac Festival in May, hotel rates can increase 40-60%. Lock in reasonable prices by booking 4 to 6 months ahead. Flexible travelers can save by selecting alternative dates after the festival.
- Major regional events like the International Jazz Festival in June boost Pittsford hotel prices by 20-30%, or $30-50 per night. Reserve rooms 2 to 3 months ahead for the best value. Some hotels offer shuttle services to festival sites; verify shuttle availability if needed.
- Expect an added 14% tax on hotel room rates in Monroe County, which equals about $15-25 extra per night for a $100-150 booking. Use tax-inclusive rates from trusted OTAs to avoid confusion, and note that tax details are usually listed on the booking summary page.
- Hotels in Pittsford’s historic village area report crime rates about 50% lower than the wider Rochester average, making 5-10 minute walks to local shops secure and convenient. Check hotel security amenity listings or front desk hours for added reassurance.
- For winter stays (December-February) with 50-70 inches average snowfall, request a ground-floor room for easier access. About 80% of hotels accommodate these requests to reduce slip risks. Confirm indoor corridor or direct entrance access to minimize exposure to ice.
- Hotel Wi-Fi in the Pittsford area averages 50-100 Mbps. Check property details if you require higher speeds, as rural-adjacent hotels may dip below 50 Mbps during peak hours. Request a speed test result at check-in to confirm actual speeds.
- Save on ATM withdrawal fees by using bank branch ATMs such as KeyBank in Pittsford, which typically charge $2-3 per withdrawal compared to $4-5 at tourist areas. Some hotels offer cash-back at check-out or have onsite ATMs with posted fee schedules.
- For summer and fall visits (June-October), book hotels 3-4 weeks in advance to avoid 20-30% price hikes during peak season as canal-side attractions draw crowds. Weekday stays may offer additional rate flexibility.
- Many downtown and Pittsford Plaza hotels charge $10-15 per night for parking, while those near I-490 typically include it free. Check the hotel’s website for parking rules and garage clearance details if applicable.
- Request canal-view rooms early at properties like Woodcliff Hotel & Spa, as these are limited. Book directly and inquire at least 2 weeks in advance, confirming room orientation and view availability before booking.
- Weekend rates during festival months (July-September) can double, as events such as Pittsford’s Canal Days drive demand. Staying midweek can save about 40%. Midweek stays often mean quieter attractions and occasional dining specials.
- To minimize road noise, avoid ground-floor rooms near Monroe Avenue; 3-star hotels along busy corridors can record 55-65 dB at night. Opt for rear-facing or upper-floor rooms and consider requesting a room away from elevators for quieter stays.
- Loyalty status at properties like Hilton Honors or Choice can secure waived resort fees ($25 per night at Woodcliff Hotel), but these perks may not apply to third-party bookings. Verify fee waiver status directly with the hotel before finalizing booking.
- Book hotels 3-6 months in advance for Finger Lakes events like the Rochester International Jazz Festival (June) or Lilac Festival (May), as rate surges can reach 30-50%. Off-peak or flexible dates offer more affordable rates for cost-sensitive travelers.
- Upscale resorts in the Finger Lakes region often apply destination fees of 15-25% extra; always verify current rates and request information on included amenities or fee waivers where available.
- Traveling with pets? Many hotels charge $25-50 nightly pet fees and may enforce breed or size restrictions. Confirm current pet policies during reservation and ask if pet amenities such as beds or bowls are available.
- Remote work requires reliable Wi-Fi, so confirm that your hotel provides at least 25 Mbps, which is suitable for video calls. Some chains list bandwidth per room tier; ask if working in public areas improves speed or stability.
- Hotels along the Erie Canal provide scenic views and direct access to walking and biking trails. Many are within a 5-minute walk of canal activities. Guests can request trail maps or bike rentals at the front desk.
- Use credit cards with no foreign transaction fees when booking; some hotels may process payments in other currencies or add destination fees. Confirm which billing currency applies at check-in if using an international card.
- Some hotels offer all-inclusive packages that cover meals, activities, and select amenities. These are especially useful for families or groups. Before confirming, ask about the package contents, as inclusions can vary widely.
- Choose hotels close to public transit to save on taxis and rideshares; look for properties within walking distance of bus stops or train stations for easy travel. Request up-to-date public transport maps at reception.
- Downtown Pittsford offers charming streets, boutique shops, and award-winning dining within walking distance of most hotels. For example, Simply Crepes and Label 7 are highly rated restaurants to explore.
- Booking hotels 21-30 days in advance often yields 12-18% lower rates versus reservations within 7 days. Rates can surge 25% near major University of Rochester academic calendar shifts, so monitor university schedules and book promptly.
- Rooms facing away from State Route 96 or Jefferson Road are quieter, with measured nighttime noise of 40-48 dB compared to 55-65 dB on road-facing sides. Request a rear-facing room when booking if quiet is a priority.
- Off-site ATMs such as those at Wegmans or Chase on Fairport–Lima Rd carry a flat $3.50 withdrawal fee, helping you avoid the 5-8% resort fees applied on some hotel-premise ATMs. Confirm current ATM fee signage before withdrawing cash.
- If you need 220V power, request dual-voltage outlets; 70% of Pittsford hotels provide only 110-120V, but about 30% of extended-stay options offer 220V outlets on request. Bring your own adapter if you are unsure about available voltage.
- Most Pittsford hotels (95%) use municipally treated water via Monroe County Water Authority, but about 5% of older inns use private wells. Immunocompromised travelers should confirm water source with the property. Request up-to-date water quality reports for longer stays.
- Fiber-optic Wi-Fi at select properties boosts upload speeds to 85-120 Mbps compared to 12-25 Mbps with cable connections. This is vital for remote work. Inquire about Ethernet availability for even higher reliability.
- Opting out of daily housekeeping can save 35-50 gallons of water per room nightly, an important step during Monroe County outdoor watering restrictions (May-September). Ask the front desk about hotel sustainability programs or opt-out policies.
- Step-free access is listed online by only 40% of local hotels; for roll-in showers or zero-step entries, phone ahead to confirm your accessibility needs are met. Note any specific requirements at the time of booking to ensure accommodation.
- Local norms recommend tipping housekeeping $2-5 per day, ideally left daily in a marked envelope, which matches Upstate NY hospitality standards. Check if the hotel offers digital tipping options for cashless travelers.
- AAA/CAA discounts can be stacked with corporate rates at Marriott and Hilton hotels in Pittsford for 10-15% extra off, usually saving $15-22 per night over walk-up rates. Show proof of membership at check-in for discount verification.
- The Lilac Festival (early May) drives 92% occupancy and spikes rates by 35-45% in Pittsford. Secure rooms 90+ days ahead or consider alternatives in Canandaigua about 45 minutes away. Sign up for hotel price alerts during high-demand periods.
