The only thing I liked about the hotel was the location.
staff was very helpful even after 12am
Chose this hotel for location (near medical treatment) and cost was low. The accessible room lacked equipment needed in the bath. Very helpful and friendly staff quickly searched, located, and delivered what was needed!

Staff was amazing! Extremely helpful in getting us a first floor room right by the door after my husband had just had knee surgery. Shower was also great! (Love a good shower in a hotel)
Rooms were nice. Little bar area staff was awesome
The hotel was close to just about every thing that we needed. There were plenty of places to eat and shop. I loved how big the room was. We had 2 queen beds and a small couch area to sit and watch TV. The pool was a good size. Overall we loved it.

I usually stay here because of the location and cleanliness
Very spacious, pretty clean and well equipped with kitchen utensils, plates and cups. They even had complimentary water bottles. I believe they were changing out old mattresses as I saw several old ones in the hallways.

The location was optimal!
Location being close to get to things if need be.
Gave us a room with one bed when we reserved 2 bed room. Staff was rude, they are condescending and the manager is twice as rude. They do what they want and they couldnt care less about their customers.

Had room with 2 queen beds and a balcony. I stay here everything I am in Wichita. Staff are great! Hotel is clean.
The front desk. I had an issue with a hotel across the street canceling my room, and I was needing to jump on a Zoom call for work. She let me check in a little early & was able to get on. Wish I could give Hotel employee a 12 out of 10.
Maybe it was all unfortunate timing for me and this review, but I was not impressed at all. The only saving grace was how nice and hospitable the staff was. I had no needs outside of checking in n and out, so there wasn't much interaction.

Top Tips
- Book Newton hotels 1-2 months ahead for summer stays or major events. Rates usually rise 15-25% from June through August and during the Kansas State Fair (late August/early September). For chain hotels, check member rates and last-minute cancellation policies to increase your options.
- If reliable high-speed Wi-Fi is essential, confirm speeds before arrival. Some hotels in Newton average only 5-15 Mbps download; ask for a speed test screenshot during booking. For video calls or streaming, prioritize chains offering published Wi-Fi minimums.
- Late-night dining options in Newton are limited, as most restaurants close by 9-10 PM, especially on weeknights. Consider booking hotels with 24/7 pantry access, in-room microwaves, or proximity (under 1 mile) to major grocers like Dillons for flexible meal options.
- Newton’s public transit covers core districts with hourly bus routes but may not fit tight schedules. For broader exploration or early/late trips, arrange rental cars or check if your hotel provides shuttle service within a 5-mile radius.
- Local festivals, such as the Newton Arts Festival or Harvey County Fair, increase hotel rates 10-20% and limit availability less than 1 month out. Use hotel event calendars or call chains directly to check dates if flexibility on rates matters.
- Always confirm accessible room details when booking, especially at smaller independent hotels, as features may vary. Major chains typically offer step-free access and accessible bathrooms; request specifics like roll-in showers or visual alarms to suit your needs.
- Booking direct with Newton hotels, including chains such as Holiday Inn Express, often delivers 5-10% lower rates than online agencies. Contact front desk staff to see if local, unpublished discounts or loyalty points can be combined for extra value.
- Expect 20-30% price spikes at Newton hotels during Bethel College events or the Harvey County Fair (July). To avoid these surges, reserve at least 6 weeks ahead or check Hesston hotels, 7 miles north, for more consistent pricing.
- During tornado season (April-June), request ground-floor rooms or properties with basements to reduce shelter disruptions from late-night drills. Most hotels will accommodate this preference at no extra cost if you mention it when booking.
- For remote work, verify Wi-Fi exceeding 25 Mbps—many independent motels cap at 5-10 Mbps, which is not suitable for video conferencing. Chains like My Place Hotel and Fairfield Inn publicly list higher speeds; ask for proof before confirming.
- Family-run motels such as Super 8 or Knights Inn may charge 2.5-3% credit card processing fees. Pay cash to avoid these charges; an ATM with no extra fee is located at Dillons grocery on Main Street, within 2 miles of most hotels.
- Budget hotel 'free breakfast' in Newton typically means packaged pastries and coffee unless chain-affiliated. For hot meal options, prioritize Country Inn & Suites or Holiday Inn Express, which serve cooked breakfast from 6-9:30 AM.
- Historic hotels like Carriage Factory Inn may lack elevators or step-free access. If accessibility is important, call ahead to confirm features such as bathtub grips, portable shower chairs, or ramp access.
