It was a great price. I gave cleanliness an excellent score. The hotel was very clean but the mattress was disgusting. Someone bled out all over the side of the mattress and all they did was flip it. They should have replaced it
Location and staff were friendly. Being next to some major freeways helped to be able to travel easy.

Everything was fine. Cleaniness was as per expectations. Staff was friendly..
Clean the bathrooms well, vacuum them well, very dirty and I found a spider in my room. I commented about the spider and they angrily said they wanted me to believe that nothing was going to be done about it. Not recommended the hotel anymore
The gardens around the pool area and courtyard are really beautiful. So many flowers! The patio around the pool is so nice.

I liked nothing, it was a horrible experience. I also felt unsafe during the entire stay!
I expected very little and it didn't even live up to that. This is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. We wanted to leave immediately after seeing the room. The only positive was the girl at the front desk was pleasant.
I can have any ac or any heat I wanted

Top Tips
- Book at least 2-6 weeks ahead, as San Jose hotel rates can rise by 20% or more during conferences, tech events, or sports at venues like Levi's Stadium. For summer and major events, price increases often begin 14 days out. Compare booking sites and check local event calendars before confirming your travel dates.
- Clarify your airport when making reservations. Only Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) handles commercial flights, while Reid-Hillview (RHV) is general aviation only. Always provide your arrival airport code (SJC or RHV) when arranging shuttles or taxis.
- Choose your hotel based on where your meetings will be. For downtown or SJC access, select west or central San Jose properties. For east side appointments (near RHV, Alum Rock, or Eastridge), search along Monterey Rd, King Rd, or I-680. Use maps to confirm drive times, as east-west traffic can double during 08:00-10:00 and 16:30-18:30.
- East San Jose public transit coverage is limited, with VTA bus 22 or light rail extensions taking a minimum of 30 minutes to reach downtown. Rideshares like Uber and Lyft usually arrive within 7 minutes but may cost 2-4 times more during stadium events. For maximum flexibility, consider renting a car if you have several meetings per day.
- Expect parking fees at most San Jose hotels. US$15-20 daily is typical for either self or valet parking. Local taxes, including a 10-12% Transient Occupancy Tax, apply to nightly rates and parking fees. Always confirm your full total before booking to accurately budget your trip.
- Most airport shuttles serve SJC only, not RHV. If arriving at RHV, check directly with your hotel about shuttle service; if unavailable, plan to use taxi, rideshare, or a private transfer. Shuttle hours often end by midnight, so verify service for evening arrivals.
- Request your hotel's maximum Wi-Fi speed and whether business amenities such as printers or meeting rooms are included. Some hotels charge up to US$15 per night for premium bandwidth. Confirm included services in advance to avoid unexpected fees.
- Bring a valid photo ID such as a passport or driver’s license for check-in. Hotels often place a US$50-100 incidental hold on your credit card, usually released within 2-7 days of checkout. Notify the front desk if you will arrive after 23:00 to ensure 24-hour check-in support is available.
- In San Jose, tip bellhops US$2-5 per bag and housekeeping US$3-5 per night, left daily. If using room service, check whether a 15-20% service charge has been added, and tip accordingly if not.
- Request a quiet room away from elevators, stairwells, and highways. Reid-Hillview sits near busy roadways, so upper floors generally receive less street noise. For light sleepers, bring earplugs or request a room on the side opposite the main entrance and traffic.
- San Jose is generally safe, but property crime is higher close to major transit lines. Use in-room safes for valuables and avoid leaving items in parked cars. Ask the front desk for the newest, well-lit walking routes.
- Mobile check-in is standard at major chains such as Marriott and Hilton, letting you skip front desk lines. If arriving before 15:00 or leaving after checkout, most hotels provide free luggage storage; ask at the front desk for details.
- Most San Jose hotels are non-smoking throughout the property. Pet policies vary, but many allow dogs under 50 lbs (23 kg) for an extra US$75-100 per visit. Always check for breed or size restrictions before booking.
- Health protocols change as local guidance updates. Masking, enhanced cleaning, or vaccination requirements will be listed on your reservation confirmation or website. Contact your hotel ahead of travel to confirm current policies and cancellation terms.
- Ask front desk staff for local recommendations, as they can secure advance tickets for attractions such as Winchester Mystery House tours, Santana Row dining, or museum entries. Many hotels provide local guides with distance estimates, for example, 3 mi to The Tech Interactive.
- If traveling with children, confirm if cribs or Pack 'n Plays are available and whether connecting rooms can be booked. For family amenities, check that pools are open and staffed, and ask about nearby parks like the Municipal Rose Garden, 2.5 mi north.
- Solo travelers benefit from choosing hotels with 24-hour staffed front desks and strong in-room lighting. Book upper floors when possible and let hotel staff know your check-in time for added security and peace of mind.
- For extended stays, choose hotels with in-room kitchenettes, onsite laundry, and complimentary breakfast. Staying 7 or more nights can result in a 10-15% weekly discount. Request itemized billing if you need business reimbursement.
- Hotel rates can increase by 25% or more during events at SAP Center, Levi's Stadium, or local festivals. Always check city event calendars before booking, as major event dates also bring heavier traffic and higher rideshare fares.
- If your plans could change, select refundable rates or loyalty programs like Hilton Honors or Marriott Bonvoy, which may provide free cancellation up to 24-48 hours before arrival. Loyalty members sometimes receive perks, such as room upgrades or waived fees, so confirm terms when booking.
