I have never gotten a message from the front desk, asking how things are once I arrived in my room, but I did this time from a Hotel employee. That was very impressive.
I like this hotel. It is sometimes pricier than I'd like, but this booking, on this particular date was a good deal. It is clean and fresh looking. Zero complaints.

They wouldn't let me check in even know I was there and even stayed there the night before and did nothing wrong and prepaid for room and again won't let me check in.
Quietness
The place had broken table legs, half the tv screen had lines down it. The bathroom toilet had black stuff under the seat on inside the toilet. The shower was stained and would not drain all the water. The light by the door flickered on and off. Horrible

It's a very modern hotel, and though the decor seems like a little sparse it's quite comfortable. Took me a minute to get a handle on the shower controls, a little unusual. I thorough enjoy my interaction with the front desk manager who checked me in.

Top Tips
- Secure your New Kensington hotel 2-4 weeks in advance for weekend stays, or at least 4 weeks ahead if your visit overlaps with major Pittsburgh events. With fewer lodging options in New Kensington than Pittsburgh itself, booking early increases your choice of room types.
- Renting a car at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) simplifies your trip to New Kensington, where late-night rideshare coverage can be inconsistent. City center to New Kensington drives typically take 45-55 minutes, and a rental offers flexible access to both local sites and Pittsburgh attractions.
- Check hotel parking policies before you book. Some New Kensington properties charge $15–$20 per night, even though the area mostly features free street and lot parking. Ask for parking availability and fees in writing for all vehicles in your party.
- For guaranteed work productivity, request a current Wi-Fi speed test result (in Mbps) from your hotel or book a business-class room before arrival. Many smaller hotels in the area offer basic connections often under 25 Mbps, which may not suit video calls or large file transfers.
- Staying along PA-56 or near the Route 28 interchange shortens drives by 10-25 minutes to essential services like supermarkets, urgent care, and pharmacies. These corridors offer easier access to chain restaurants, fuel, and retail centers popular with travelers.
- Confirm accessible room features and step-free access in writing for your specific room type, as older New Kensington properties may lack elevators or ADA-compliant amenities. If traveling with a mobility device, ask about ramp access and visual alarms during your reservation process.
- Expect a limited amenity set at many suburban and highway motels; pack extra toiletries, a compact power strip, or a personal kettle. Some hotels close their front desks after 22:00, and late-night store options may be a 15-20 minute drive.
- Always clarify local occupancy taxes and ask for your final nightly rate, including all fees, before payment. Westmoreland County and local taxes can add 7-13% to the base price, so verify with your hotel or booking platform.
