The Oaklander Hotel, Autograph Collection by Marriott

I don't remember why I picked this hotel for an overnight after seeing Fallingwater. It's not central. What was I thinking! But it turned out to be our favorite place of our vacation. Clean, attractive, nice location, efficient service, good people. They rolled our room service in on a table, like in the movies, instead of handing you a dish at the door like most places. We also ate in the restaurant which had good service, good food and a pleasant atmosphere. One employee bragged to us about the many celebrities that have stayed there over the years--maybe it is the go-to place for people in the know?

Location (for CMU visit). Room was pleasant and quiet.

Would have preferred a breakfast buffet. Entry is weird, through a side door of the garage, access via an elevator (two in theory, but usually one was absent for some reason).

Location was perfect for our needs, felt very safe, hotel was nice and clean.

The checkin on the 10th floor was a little odd. Maybe pregame that in communication.

The restaurant food was of fine hotel quality. The staff were all exceedingly friendly and kind.

The floor was covered in hair and debris. The bedding was unkept and there was significant dander and dust in the telephone. While most common surfaces seemed to be clean (vanity, desk, etc.), deep cleaning is not at all their strong suit. I cleaned what I believe to be dried vomit and urine off the lavatory door, wiped down door surfaces that had stains, etc. The management has yet to reach out and I was only given a 20 dollar credit toward room service and free microwave/mini-fridge (which costs 20 per day!! not complimentary!) in response. The halls and elevatory smelled significantly of cologne or heavy fragrance, so I would not recommend this place to anyone with chemical sensitivity issues. I was unable to address these issues immediately upon arrival due to a variety of factors and my complaints have yet to reach management.

Room needs carpet or rugs. Promised a corner room but not a corner. Room was not very clean and beds are hard. Only plus was room was large. Not worth $839 on Sunday night!

Cold hard floors, terrible lighting in bathroom, only one sink, not clean, beds too hard.

great location for us; big windows and stylish room and bath room; Housekeepng very well done. nice couch by window Staff very friendly and helpful.

Need more coffee pods and real milk creamers; upper floor lobby a bit confusing and less chance for interaction with staff. More outlets needed in room

Perfect location for bringing our daughter to college and for visiting. Hotel is really nice and super clean. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Perfect location in a safe area. Very clean and pet friendly. They also provide valet parking or you can park across the street for a cheaper price. Breakfast was delicious at a reasonable price. Staff was friendly and ready to assist with any issues.

The only odd thing was that the receptionist was located at the 10th floor of the hotel not when you walk in.

We had a corner room which was spacious and clean. Location is nice.

Super noisy air conditioning, as in, not being able to sleep kind of noisy. Staff are very nice or extremely curt. Email enquiries sent before the stay were never responded. Incredibly odd billing, with daily charges instead of one charge, which will take me actual effort to check in terms of accuracy. Frankly, too many things, and not even the free late check out made out for it.
