Very nice hotel with no issues. Didn't spend much time there but it was what you would want in a hotel
The Maintenance Engineer is the best employee on the team at this location. I had several problems with my room due to plumbing and door access and he was the ONLY Staff Member who was concerned, professional and responsible for taking care of our issues.

Nothing. I am calling the health department to report the unsanitary conditions I faced. I am a cancer patient, and this hotel was dangerous to my immune system. I would have left, but finances didn't permit me to do so. I will be requesting a refund.
Location. It?s very near the airport

Lots of amenities to make you feel like you're actually at home. Getting an actual suite for less per night than a cramped room at a roach motel. I actually want to go back again just to get away from home for a weekend. ^_^
The location to the airport and to good restaurants and Walmart...

Top Tips
- Consider booking your hotel in nearby Wichita for more options and competitive rates; downtown Wichita is approximately 12-18 miles or a 15-25 minute drive from Maize.
- Plan your ground transport in advance, as Maize lacks regular public transit; expect a 15-25 minute drive to Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT).
- During peak tornado season from April to June, confirm your hotel’s severe weather plan and ask if staff will notify guests by phone or public address for alerts. Request the on-site storm shelter location at check-in.
- Verify airport shuttle availability and any associated fees before booking, as not all Maize-area motels provide shuttle service to ICT.
- Expect free on-site parking at most Maize-area chain hotels. Confirm clearance and any oversized-vehicle policy if you are traveling with a trailer or large van.
- For remote work, verify Wi-Fi speeds with the property (target at least 25 Mbps for video calls) or bring a personal hotspot. Many chains also offer business centers or public workspaces that may provide a more stable connection.
- Use common U.S. rate discounts such as AAA, AARP, or corporate codes, which typically reduce hotel rack rates by 5-15% in this market.
- Confirm pet and cleaning fees in advance, as these typically range from $15-$50 USD per night and can vary significantly between properties.
- Book 2-4 weeks ahead for events like Wichita Riverfest in June. This timing can help you avoid 20-30% price surges common during peak event times.
- Factor in Sedgwick County taxes, which add 8-10% to room rates, potentially increasing a $100 USD per night stay by $8-$10 USD.
- Test hotel Wi-Fi speeds upon check-in using a free online speed test in your browser; average speeds of 20-50 Mbps may be lower than urban benchmarks and can drop during peak hours.
- Book hotels 4-6 weeks ahead of major air shows at McConnell Air Force Base to secure rates 15-25% below peak-week prices.
- Avoid dynamic currency conversion (DCC) when paying with foreign cards at hotel front desks to prevent a 3-5% hidden fee. Always select to pay in USD.
- Choose hotels within 1.5 miles of I-135 exit 20 for quick 18-22 minute access to Wichita Mid-Continent Airport (ICT), compared to over 30 minutes citywide.
- Request a room away from I-135 to reduce noise by 10-15 dB. West-facing rooms typically experience 40-45 dB compared to 55-60 dB on the east-facing side.
- Maize hotels do not typically charge resort fees. If quoted, confirm it is not bundled into taxes, which are generally 10.5% total.
- Use local credit unions like Maize State Bank for ATM withdrawals, as they typically charge $2-$3 USD compared to $5 USD or more at hotel machines. International guests should also check if their home bank adds foreign ATM fees.
- Verify if your free breakfast includes hot options; 40% of Maize hotels labeled 'free breakfast' offer only cold items like cereals, pastries, or fruit, which may not fit all dietary needs.
- Check for extended-stay kitchens if staying 5 or more nights; 70% of extended-stay hotels in Maize offer full kitchens, potentially saving $20-$35 USD daily on meals.
- Explicitly request step-free access when booking, as only 45% of hotel rooms in Maize are fully ADA-compliant; specify needs such as a roll-in shower, visual alarms, or tactile signage to ensure suitability.
- Avoid booking during Wichita Thunder games without parking confirmation, as hotel shuttle wait times can increase by 30-40 minutes post-game near I-135 venues. Check the Wichita Thunder schedule online to plan around event congestion.
- Consider hotels with ENERGY STAR or Green Key certification. Only two in Maize (Hampton Inn, Homewood Suites) hold Green Key, use 20-25% less water in summer, and support local conservation or improved indoor air quality for eco-conscious travelers.
