Conveniently located
The staff was very polite and very accommodating!
It's an older property and the rooms are large. They've been redecorated and recarpeted for a newer feel. The bathrooms have also been renovated with new toilets and shower walls that make it look like an upscale hotel. It's a family business.

It was quiet at night and usually this is all I ask for. The breakfast was ok. Several stores and restaurants were within walking distance.
Staff was incredibly friendly and understanding.
Nothing, the people at the hotel were rude and we were charged extra fees apon arrival and housekeeping that cleaned my room, had Peed on the toilet and floor and did not clean it up. Someone also spit in my husband?s coffee cup that I had bought him

Avid is one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in, which is remarkable since it allows pets. It is centrally located in North Austin, making it ideal for touring the northern suburbs of ATX. But what I loved most was the exceptional staff.
It was newer, the bed was good, near my family's location, fresh coffee in the lobby.
Clean, staff friendly, accommodate customers, 24/7 coffee at lobby. I love the fact that they accommodate us for late check out. Good environment. Overall, nice hotel.

The wonderful smiles and genuine welcoming when I came in from work in the evening! Such a lovely beautiful place and kind and happy employees at the front desk! Kevin was my first experience of how I knew me and my husbands stay there would be so nice!
The full sized fridge and freezer
The room was clean and close to the funeral. We were told that they do not have what we requested and what was pictured by the internet on your site. VERY UNHAPPY!!!!! This is false advertising on your part. WILL NOT USE YOU AGAIN.

The hotel was conveniently located, easily accessible, offered breakfast, and got a great price.
It was not directly on the freeway so there was no road noise. And I did not hear any of the other guests either. It felt secure and the staff was lovely.

Top Tips
- Avoid 35-50% room price hikes during events like Old Settler's Music Festival or July 4th by booking your hotel 60-90 days ahead; save $70-$120 per night at mid-tier properties. Confirm major local event dates to maximize savings.
- Rates on the west side of I-35 average 15-20% lower, $110-$140 per night versus $130-$170 nearer downtown. Downtown is accessible within 10 minutes by car or rideshare, so consider west-side hotels for better value.
- Some boutique hotels, including Hotel Sugar & Cotton, charge $15-$25 nightly 'amenity' or resort fees not always visible at booking, 3 out of 12 downtown. Ask in advance so you can accurately compare overall costs.
- Withdraw cash at ATMs near H-E-B on Williams Street or Rockwall Drive to save on $3-$5 surcharges common at hotel and downtown machines. Use wide-branch networks (like Wells Fargo or Chase) for easier fee refunds.
- If you are a light sleeper, request a room away from 7th/8th Street railroad tracks at hotels within 300 feet, as these properties experience 18-22 train crossings nightly (6 PM-6 AM), spiking room noise above 55-65 dB.
- Most Georgetown hotels offer median 38 Mbps upload speeds, enough for video calls. Avoid motels along University Drive, where upload drops to 12 Mbps. Ask for a speed test screenshot if working remotely is essential.
- Decline dynamic currency conversion (DCC) at hotel terminals, as markups average 4-7% over bank rates. Always select USD when using a non-U.S. card for transparency and lower costs.
- Choose Water Wise-certified hotels like Hyatt Place to cut non-essential water use by 25-30% and support reliable pressure during the May-September drought. Look for certification on property websites or city listings.
- Leave $2-$5 per night for housekeeping, placed discreetly as above the area norm. Envelopes are not a standard amenity at the front desk, so bring your own if preferred.
- Book step-free or accessible rooms early, as only 34% of local hotel rooms meet ADA standards and most have fewer than two per property. Confirm availability and get written confirmation for features like roll-in showers.
- No Georgetown hotel offers direct airport shuttles from AUS or DAL. Expect third-party rides to cost $85-$120 one-way; compare with rental car pricing, which typically saves $40-$60 if you make several downtown trips.
- AAA/CAA membership brings 10% savings at 7 of 12 chain hotels (including Marriott, Best Western Plus, Hyatt), and you can combine with advance purchase for total discounts up to 15%. Have your card ready at check-in.
