It was super clean and the staff was very friendly. Even though the decor is old, it was very well maintained. The shower was also nice. It had the shower head and the handle to turn on the water closer to the edge so you could easily turn it on.

They have a little topping bar for you to put on your oatmeal or yogurt that contains cookie crumbs, granola, chocolate chips etc.
The hospitality was excellent
I did not stay at this hotel. It is not a 3 star hotel. The management/owner recently purchased the property. They are in a process of making it better. The property was a decrepit old hotel.

Beautiful hotel and nice rooms--bed very comfy; helpful staff; great valet parking service. Plenty of dining options near-by including onsite Katharine Bistro.
The Cardinal is beautiful, comfortable, and welcoming. If you travel with pets, it's the best (+w/no pet fees, it's competitive). There's a free garage behind the building, the rooms and beds are amazing, and the staff is great. Rec room is superb, too.

The location
We were there for several days for a ballet competition. I loved coming back to our hotel after a long day where we could still get late night food and a glass of wine. The next door parking garage made it so convenient.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 2-3 weeks before arrival to avoid a 10-15% price surge, especially between May and September when demand increases. Early booking locks in lower rates and offers more options for accessible rooms if needed.
- Choose hotels along Clemmons Road or in central Clemmons for a 5-10 minute drive to Winston-Salem and convenient access to local dining, supermarkets, and pharmacies. This area features leading chains with onsite parking and accessible amenities.
- Expect a 12.75% sales tax and a nightly lodging fee of $1.50-$2.50, which can add 15-25% to your total bill. Check your booking confirmation for a complete fee breakdown and verify accessible room type charges if applicable.
- Most Clemmons hotels offer reliable Wi-Fi at 25-50 Mbps and observe quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM, making them suitable for remote work and restful stays. Request an accessible room or confirm step-free access in advance.
- Rates between October and April are typically 10-20% lower than during peak season. Off-season stays often mean fewer crowds at local attractions and easier availability of accessible rooms.
- Major credit cards and US dollars are accepted at most hotels. Some hotels offer a 2-5% discount for cash payments, so confirm transaction policies or ID requirements with the front desk before you arrive.
- Select hotels with eco-friendly certifications like ENERGY STAR or Green Seal, or those offering water-conserving features such as low-flow showerheads. Ask about recycling programs and accessible environmental initiatives at local chains.
