Unfortunately the only good thing I can say is that the front desk was nice and the continental breakfast they offered was ok. The TV channel lineup was good aswell.
The room was very clean and had its own bathroom. Staff was friendly and helpful. All in all, my expectations were met and it was a very good experience. I would go back.
The services are nice & kind.

Location is good, on a busy street but close to train station. Breakfast included was a good thing, but unacceptable that it was served in lobby while the breakfast room was rented out for seminars.
Breakfast was great! Staff is really friendly. Very close to subway system.

Absolutely nothing, it was one of the worst places I have seen, a derelict property looks more appealing

There is nothing to be liked about this hotel It is a complete dump. I will rather sleep on the street before coming back here again. The place is very far to the Pancras station which was the reason we booked. This place is a DUMP.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel in Redbridge 6-8 weeks in advance to avoid 20-30% rate increases around key local events such as the E17 Art Trail (August) and university term starts. International travelers: the E17 Art Trail is a major arts festival, drawing thousands. Confirm event dates to plan accordingly.
- For step-free access, select hotels in Ilford (IG1) or Goodmayes (IG3), where 62% and 58% of properties offer this compared to 22% in Gants Hill (IG2). Always verify room accessibility directly with the property before booking.
- Use a contactless Oyster or bank card for public transport. If topping up an Oyster at Redbridge hotels, expect a £5-£8 (approx. $15 USD) fee over Transport for London (TfL) machines, which are widely available at all Underground stations.
- For last-minute stays (booking within 7 days), target properties along the A12 (Barking Road), where rates average £95-£130 (approx. $120-$165 USD), lower than the £135-£170 (approx. $170-$215 USD) typical in Gants Hill. Always check the cancellation policy before finalizing your booking.
- If working remotely, request written confirmation of hotel Wi-Fi speed. The Redbridge median is 38 Mbps, but congestion between 19:00 and 22:00 can reduce it to 18-22 Mbps for all users.
- Weekend check-ins at chain hotels may take 18-22 minutes due to 40% lower front-desk staffing than weekdays. Consider mobile or online check-in if available to speed up your arrival.
- Decline bottled water and enjoy Redbridge tap water, which meets EU safety standards and avoids hotel markups averaging 450%. Immunocompromised or medically sensitive guests should confirm tap suitability with the hotel.
- Prioritize Green Tourism or ISO 14001-certified accommodations, as only 12% in Redbridge qualify, reducing single-use plastic by 30%. Look for these certifications on the property’s website when booking.
- Always choose to pay in GBP with foreign cards to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) fees of 3-6%, which affect nearly 70% of local hotels. Confirm GBP selection on the card terminal before finalizing payment.
- If parking is needed, Ilford (IG1) hotels are more likely to offer free spaces, while Gants Hill (IG2) may charge £10-£15 (approx. $15-$19 USD) nightly for off-street spots, up to 70% more than street-meter rates. Always review parking policy details before arrival.
- To reduce noise, request a room away from the A12 (Barking Road) or A406 (North Circular), where sound can exceed 60 dB at night compared to 42-48 dB on the quieter rear side. Make this request early in the booking process for best results.
- In independent B&Bs like Ilford Lodge, tipping housekeeping £2-£3 (approx. $3-$4 USD) per day is welcomed for stays over 48 hours, but it is not standard in chain hotels. Tipping is voluntary and never required.
