    Pros +

    • The beds were comfey, and rooms had all we needed. The staff, reception and breakfast team were friendly and helpful. The train is a couple of minutes walk away and there is a small high street with a tesco express. The location itself felt safe, secure and peaceful. It was very reasonably priced also, 2 nights for 2 people were less than £100.
    • Location to station and all the staff encountered
    • Clean, warm and comfortable for an amazing price.

    Cons -

    • Room 504 had a bad smell, caused by the shower drain and it was very unpleasant. We were barely in the room due to full days of activity, so just bought an air freshener which helped. However in hind sight we should have asked to move. It would not put us off staying again though.
    • Beds were not the best .. very loose and loud/creaky We are aware its a youth hostal based experience ..the heater in the room could have been better although we were warm enough with the bedding provided Maybe if able too upgrade older guests to your best rooms We came home happy of the stay but wish the beds were less noisy and abit more comfortable
    • Bathroom sink could have been bigger

Very clean, easily accessible, nice staff

The stomping noise from upstairs even in the middle of the night was so unbearable especially when your goal is to have some quiet time and rest. No wifi available in bedrooms

Great type of accommodation, well set out and easy to navigate around the premises .

The lighting was a bit bright but I like dimmable lights .

Staff friendly. Nice comfortable relaxing area. Catch up on your mobile with WiFi connection. Kitchen area well equipped. My room was very comfortable.Bed was comfy. Room very nice and clean.

I think it should have hand rails and a shower mat. The floor was slippery when wet. And there is a small step, when you get out of the shower. And maybe a mop today the floor after your shower.A lovely stay

It was situated in a lovely area, close to the train station, a short walk to the centre of Cheshunt. Plenty of great walks nearby, inc the canal. The kitchens are well equipped.

I’m not sure (I should have asked) if they have solar panels. This would help with the many lights that they use in the cabins and main reception area. Maybe they should have light sensors in the kitchens. I would often see the lights left on in my kitchen area, I would turn them off. I wish the WiFi would be available in the cabins, atm you have to go into the main reception area to use your laptop/mobile. I like to relax in my comfy clothes to watch films. I can’t really do that in the reception area

The staff and facilities were excellent, and upon arrival, the room and communal areas were clean and to a good standard.

Visitors, not respecting other guests and the facilities available. For example, excessive noise until 3 am. every night, the fridge left open to allow other guests' food to spoil, leaving communal areas dirty. This is not a reflection on the YHA, just the calibre of people staying. The cabins do carry noise as expected but not excessive when people adhere to the house rules.I guess it only takes a few to ruin a potentially great stay

Great location. Clean with all the basic amenities.

Room is spare. Beds are very spare. Room was cold, even with heater running for hours. Bathroom was freezing and sparse.

    4JamesPosted on: 1-14-2026

    Could prepare a decent meal

Noise from other rooms late at night and the heavy smell of cannabis in the car park

    8JennyPosted on: 1-14-2026

    Lovely staff, nice layout.

    Sheets badly fitting

Bedrooms were just right regards size, storage and bathroom. Big enough for two persons. Great lighting over the beds too! Free parking in a London postcode BONUS!

That the WiFi doesn't cover the bedrooms, only inside the reception area, weird!

Great location! Friendly staff. Spacious and clean. Very quiet outside (except trains but they were no problem). Excellent value for money. Will try to come again and recommend to friends. Thank you!
