Quiet heat.
Convenient location and the hotel had an elevator.
The breakfast was a typical breakfast. Yet, the bagels were delicious and were not the typical bagels you normally find. Loved them, especially with peanut butter and jam.

Very clean, very professional, this is one of the nicest places in Butte. The little casino restaurant across the street has very good food, it¿s almost like having a place with an in-house restaurant.

Top Tips
- Book at least 4 weeks before Evel Knievel Days in mid-July to avoid rate increases of 35-50%. Typical nightly rates in Butte are about $89, but these rise to $120-135 during the festival. Finalize your booking early to secure lower rates.
- Hotels within 0.3 miles of South Main Street offer Walk Scores of 68-74, making it easier to explore Butte’s historic district on foot. Compare each property's location and Walk Score before booking for better access to local shops and attractions.
- Combined state and local lodging taxes in Silver Bow County add 5-8% to your base rate, which can increase your total by 7-10%. Always check your booking summary for the final taxes and fees to avoid surprises.
- For reliable remote work, choose hotels with fiber-backed Wi-Fi, which average 85-110 Mbps download speeds. Non-fiber options may drop to 25-40 Mbps, especially after 9 PM; confirm the internet type with the property if you need consistent speed.
- Request step-free access in advance if mobility is a concern. Only 21% (3 of 14) of downtown hotels have elevators, and not all 'accessible' rooms guarantee step-free entry.
- Select to pay in USD when using a non-US credit card to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion fees, which average 4-7% above interbank rates. Check your receipt for the correct currency charge.
- Use bank ATMs at Credit Union of Butte or First Security Bank to avoid $3-5 surcharges. Independent ATMs, often found in bars or convenience stores, may add a $3 base fee plus a $2 operator charge.
- Mining-era (pre-1950) hotels have a 38% chance of exceeding EPA radon thresholds. For stays in basement or ground-floor rooms, request proof of active radon mitigation for your health and safety.
- Onsite laundry facilities can save long-term guests (7+ days) $15-25 per week compared to laundromats. Properties like Kelly Inn Butte report 60% amenity usage by extended-stay visitors.
- Tip housekeeping $2-5 per night, left in your room with a labeled note. Local practice suggests untipped staff may prioritize other rooms.
- Avoid ground-floor rooms near East Galena Street after 10 PM, as noise complaints from bars and late-night foot traffic increase 40% on weekends. Request upper-floor or west-facing rooms to reduce disturbance.
- Hotels displaying water-conservation signage and using low-flow fixtures reduce guest water use by 18-22% during the dry July-August peak. Support local conservation by choosing these properties.
