The Panmure Arms Hotel

Great value hotel with very helpful, friendly and local staff. Comfortable room, very clean with everything we required. Very nice bar, restaurant and the public restrooms were very clean.Menu covered a wide range of tastes and the food was well presented and delicious especially breakfast.

Highly recommend the restaurant - excellent food and prompt, friendly service. We had everything we needed in our room that has had refurbishments done and was very clean and comfortable. For a very old hotel it has been kept well. There was helpful tourist information in the dresser drawer and necessary toiletries in the bathroom. Hairdryer also provided. Just wish the one or two squeaky floorboards could speak to us of some of the history they have seen! We loved the Panmure.

The furniture was quaint but a bit well worn. Temperature of shower was not quite as hot as desired but not too bad.

Meal at night was good value and wholesome, breakfast was great I’ve stayed in more star rated hotels with poorer breakfast PANAMURE breakfast is excellent

The steak dinner. It was excellent. The private room for a small group was perfect.

The Car Park was small and disorganised but there was lots of street parking.

No microwave or fridge in room. Market is a 20 minute drive

Great helpful team at the hotel made sure we had a very pleasant stay. Secure storage for our bikes was provided inside the hotel! The room was clean and comfortable and had an opening window, good for getting fresh air when the weather is warm. Dinner was excellent with an extensive menu. Breakfast was also good and served from 7am - good for us as we needed to leave early because of Storm Floris.

Breakfast was not included in the room price. However, it was quite acceptable and promptly served. Typical hotel breakfast.The room was very clean and comfortable with the usual amenities although a second packet of biscuits would have been appreciated. The wooden bed frame was of high quality but extended beyond what you would expect therefore causing a trip or shin bashing hazard. Bed linen and towels were of exceptional quality. There was a very nice new carpet which was in keeping with the rest of the room.

The room had obviously fairly recently redecorated and an ensuite added. It was small but adequate but lacked small refinements like a hook, shelves to lay things and a toilet roll holder. The shower was good, smallish but adequate but again there was nowhere to place to stand shampoo or shower gel which is a problem for the slightly less supple pensioner. No lift was available but given enough time, the stair was manageable again for the less able pensioner.

Excellent service by friendly staff. Room and communal areas very clean. Excellent food and drink at a reasonable price.

Parking was easy. The staff were generally friendly. We liked the old-fashioned appearance of the hotel and the room. The shower was good and the towels were fluffy. We enjoyed a nice walk along the High Street of Edzell on a pleasant summer's evening.

The bed was softer than we prefer. It was not a good night's sleep for us. Things like coffee, tea and toilet rolls seemed rationed in the room. However, I should add that when we did ask for more of anything, it was given. On arrival, there was no offer to help us upstairs with our cases. We believed breakfast was included in the cost, but it wasn't.

Great room in a stunning little town. Our room had a big looks like newly refurbished bathroom.We had a lovely meal at the on-site restaurant.

Asked about non-slip mats in the bath. As we’re both over 80 falling is a distinct possibility. I was told that due to health and safety, mats in the bath are not allowed. Seems daft but there you are. ‘

Breakfast good quality and filling. Location on Main Street of Edzell very helpful. Very good menu choice in restaurant . Very good food. Staff very helpful especially manager who stored our bicycles securely overnight.

Lovely character. Not grossly luxurious. Very good menus and adaptable to needs (ketogenic).Extremely pleasant and helpful staff.
