    Pros +

    • The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, they were very attentive and did not leave any request open. The building is nice, the rooms really nicelt decorated and comfortable. The location, walking distance to a ski-lift, on demand shuttle to the next lift, or restaurants, was very convenient. The breakfast buffet was not huge, but rich and very good quality. May be some sparkling wine could be added (if the hotel claims to be a 5 star). SPA is small but nice, the massage we got was really good.

    • Beautiful hotel in an excellent location within the village of St-Martin-de-Belleville. The staff were all very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Special mention to Maeva and Lucy on the front desk and Cindy at breakfast. Our room was lovely - we were upgraded to a superior room with a fantastic view from the balcony. Really nice spa area with relaxing swimming pool and sauna.

    Cons -

    • That you have to pass through the reception when going to the SPA.
    • Occasionally service in the bar was a little slow but once you had their attention the staff were wonderful. I wasn't a huge fan of the food in the restaurant, a little overpriced in my opinion for what was served. However the tapas was very good and very well priced. We had that a few times rather than overpaying in the restaurant.
    • Lunch and dinner menu was mediocre, location was not good, no doctor close by

The staff are friendly, welcoming and cannot do enough for you. The room was absolutely beautiful with great facilities, love the coffee machine in room and the little piece of nougat on our pillow each evening. Everything was extremely clean and the toiletries in the bathroom smell divine! The ski room is large and well designed with those extra touches like access to slippers once you've removed your ski boots. Breakfast had a huge selection, along with cooked eggs of your choice all included. Cakes and treats available after a full day skiing was very much appreciated.

M Lodge is a beautiful hotel in a great resort, but in my experience and opinion it is not 5 star. It's a shame that if you want to walk to the Spa in your towelling robe, you have to walk via the bar and reception! The Spa area is lovely but small. As vegetarian we were surprised at the lack of choices in the restaurant and for Tapas, although we did get offered some options when we asked. Breakfast is also lacking for a 5 star property - adding a toaster and other hot options would be good. Would we go back - probably, but with less expectation.

Good. Tea could have been stronger! The navette service was excellent.

The bike in the gym was a bit disappointing. The computer didn’t work and there were no toe clips to keep your feet in place.

Delightful staff in reception, housekeeping and the restaurant who could not be nicer nor more helpful - they are a credit to a hotel whose actual owner and manager have a long way to go towards appreciating the value of good customer relations.

You can forgive a hotel which is still training its staff and ironing out teething problems and is honest and upfront about this. At this level this is why hotels have ‘soft’ openings and offer an introductory reduced rate. It generates a sympathetic clientele and most importantly good feed back. Alarm bells rang when the receptionist was wearing a ski jacket with a fur collar and had a heater at her feet. All the public areas during the week of my stay were FREEZING. The hotel was empty.Informed at my first breakfast that a poached egg was supplementary but a boiled egg wasn’t. Over the week I experienced cold precooked scrambled eggs with a skin across them from the buffet, cold poached eggs and undercooked boiled eggs (salmonella alert). The pillows and duvet are synthetic and there was no natural alternative available. The basin tap only ever delivered luke warm water. No furniture on the balcony.Slowly the hotel was picking up on the inevitable teething problems - late in the week of my stay a makeup mirror and vanity tray arrived in the bedroom unprompted, a bin arrived for the bedroom, balcony furniture turned up on my last night, a toaster arrived at breakfast and the scrambled eggs were addressed but intrinsic design faults are that the fireplace is at the far end of the dining room and not in the lounge or bar area so there is no fire to relax by. Access (in a towelling robe) to the spa is through the freezing reception. It only has 6 sunloungers at the pool for 25 rooms, pool width is just over 3m & staff walk back and forth outside the picture windows to access a staff door. Useless management responded to miserable stay with the compensatory offer of a free massage ...a total insult in this cold and unwelcoming hotel.
