There are a number of things that I enjoy at the hotel... breakfast, happy hour, indoor pool, and so forth. However, most of all I enjoy the professional and courteous service from at the front desk. Her service always exceeds expectations.
Great breakfast. Very nice rooms
Breakfast was included and the omelet station was exceptional. The only negative critique was the bacon strips were over done to a crispy chip. The coffee was excellent. I also enjoyed my Bloody Mary during happy hour.

Friendly staff
The staff were very friendly. There was an issue with the room, and their solution was to move us to another room. Not only were they very accommodating about moving us, because we were going to be gone the all day, they moved our items for us!

Top Tips
- Discover prime availability by booking hotels 6 to 12 weeks ahead of LSU home football weekends; hotel rates near campus and downtown often increase by 40-60% as game day approaches. Confirm minimum-stay or prepayment rules before reserving.
- Expect downtown hotel parking fees of $15 to $25 per night for covered or valet spots; hotels in the airport area and suburbs typically provide complimentary self-parking. Confirm parking availability with your hotel during peak events or holidays.
- Airport transfers between Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport and downtown hotels take 15-20 minutes for the 9-12 mile route. Rideshare and taxi fares usually range from $25 to $40 one way; check if your hotel offers a free or discounted airport shuttle.
- Hurricane season in Baton Rouge runs June 1 to November 30, peaking August-September; confirm your hotel’s evacuation and storm policy before travel. After major storms, ask hotel staff about recent boil-water advisories before using tap water in your room.
- Major hotel chains near I-10 and downtown often feature backup generators and reliable Wi-Fi; confirm if elevators and air conditioning stay powered during outages, especially during hurricane season or large events.
- After 9 pm, rideshare services offer faster access to hotels, as Capital Area Transit System (CATS) buses operate limited evening schedules. Schedule your ride in advance after dark, or ask the front desk to arrange a local taxi.
- Older motels and historic inns near LSU or Perkins Road may lack step-free access; request an accessible room or a documented step-free path at booking, and ask for written confirmation if you have mobility needs.
- Hotels near the Raising Cane’s River Center or during major conventions often implement event surcharges or minimum-stay policies. Check the Baton Rouge event calendar before booking and use flexible cancellation rates if your plans might change.
- Chain loyalty and AAA or corporate rates can reduce nightly charges on non-event dates and may qualify you for upgrades. These discounts generally don’t apply on sold-out weekends, so check for them on weekdays to get the most value.
