Able to take my wife from room to The Slate for breakfast each morning. She's got Alzheimers and it was just easier to eat at the hotel. We even had "room service" our last night there. Oh...I make Eggs Benedict each morning because she wants it.
The Hotel was clean and relatively quiet.

Good location for the week long class I took. I had stayed there when I took my last class and enjoyed the room, staff and morning breakfast so I could concentrate on the class. But this trip was very different, the hotel was going through renovations.

Location, simple amenities, and modern feel.
The only thing I liked about the hotel was the young lady that checked us in. She was very understanding of our issues the night of check in and had no bad attitude towards us for expressing how unclean our room was. the night clerk @ checkout was rude.

The cleanliness of the room. The room was big enough to move around.
Not much to like there.

The room had everything we needed. Often there's no luggage rack, sofa bed makes the desk/table inaccessible, towel racks are inadequate or nonexistent, nowhere to sit. Little things that really make a room comfortable or not. This room had them all.
Great location and one of the cleanest hotels I've ever stayed in.
The breakfast area was so clean and inviting. Th general feel of this hotel was clean.

Top Tips
- Reserve hotels 30 to 90+ days before BYU home football, graduation, or campus events, as rooms within 1 mile of campus routinely sell out and prices rise by 20-30% when event dates are announced. For the best selection, compare rates and amenities early and check cancellation policies, especially for non-refundable options.
- Use Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) for most arrivals to Provo since SLC is 40-50 miles (64-80 km) or 45-60 minutes by car. Provo Municipal Airport (PVU) has limited flights that change seasonally; confirm current airlines and schedules before booking, or check hotel shuttle service if using PVU.
- Include $15 to $25 USD nightly parking costs for hotels near BYU and downtown Provo in your budget. On major event days, some municipal lots impose restrictions - verify parking access and event surcharges with your hotel, and consider walking or hotel shuttles to avoid last-minute issues.
- Choose hotels on University Avenue or within the Riverwoods/Center Street corridor for walkable access - locations 0.5 to 1.5 miles (0.8-2.4 km) from BYU and downtown restaurants. This reduces rideshare reliance during events and lets you explore Provo’s local dining scene on foot or with minimal transit.
- Ride-hail rates and wait times often spike on BYU game days or commencement; to secure reliable transport, confirm if your hotel operates a shuttle or prebook a private van for groups. You may also want to ask about pedestrian routes if walking is preferable.
- During Utah’s dry season (late spring to early fall), many hotels encourage linen and towel reuse to conserve water. Verify at booking if daily housekeeping is available or adjust expectations; request fresh linens on arrival if you prefer daily changes.
- If accessibility matters, confirm step-free access and accessible room features (entry width, grab bars, roll-in showers) before booking at older Provo hotels. Some historic inns lack modern ADA upgrades, so request details or photos if you have specific needs.
- Expect a credit card pre-authorization hold of $50 to $200 USD on arrival for incidentals; release timing varies by hotel and card type. If using a debit card, ask the front desk about hold release timeframes to avoid unexpected account holds after checkout.
