I originally went for the indoor and outdoor pools, which, although far from regulation length, are longer than those of most hotels. This trip, I especially liked that the outdoor pool was still open in mid-October.

Convenient to a conference I was attending. I was lucky to get a room.
The room was great. It?s located not far from Ft. Carson. The outside doesn?t look like the inside. So I was a bit apprehensive at first. But once inside it?s beautiful. Hotel employee and staff was amazing and helpful.

Top Tips
- Book 60-90 days ahead for summer stays, as July-August rates can rise up to 40% due to high demand for Colorado Springs attractions like Pikes Peak. Many top hotels offer flexible booking or cancellation policies, so check these when planning in advance.
- Budget an additional 10.8% occupancy tax for your hotel bill in El Paso County, which supports local services. Review your final bill before check-out, as taxes and fees are often itemized.
- Select hotels near downtown Fountain, such as those along Highway 16, where crime rates are about 15% lower than in outlying areas. Staying downtown also gives proximity to local dining and shops for added convenience.
- Confirm Wi-Fi speeds, as most chain hotels in Fountain offer 50-100 Mbps. Power outages of 1-2 hours can occur during summer thunderstorms, so ask at check-in whether backup power or generators are available if you need uninterrupted connectivity.
- Prioritize water-conserving hotels during June-August drought periods; properties with Colorado Green Business certification typically reduce water consumption by 20-30%. Guests can help by reusing towels and linens to support these sustainability efforts.
- Request a south-facing room for cooler temperatures, as summer afternoons in Fountain often exceed 90°F (32°C) and these rooms avoid direct sunlight. If you have accessibility needs, request this orientation in advance since not all accessible rooms face south.
- Confirm any resort fees before booking; some hotels near I-25 add $5-$15 per night for access to amenities such as pools. Ask for a clear list of included amenities to make the most of any resort fee charged.
- Choose properties with 24/7 front desks for late arrivals; staff can advise on nearby 24-hour gas stations like Loaf 'N Jug after 10 PM. Around-the-clock front desk support can also help with after-hours requests.
- Use Fountain Creek Regional Park for free parking when visiting Colorado Springs; it is a 15-minute drive and closes at 9 PM. Be sure to move your vehicle before closing to avoid towing or fines.
- Avoid ground-floor rooms near highways, as I-25 noise reaches hotels like Super 8. Upper floors or properties set back 200 feet or more are quieter. Request a quiet room, bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper, and guests with mobility needs should confirm elevator access or accessible room availability.
