Hotel is desperately in need of general renovation and needs to look less like an abandoned building from the outside.

Did not stay at this hotel. It is really a truck stop and not to my expectation. I cancelled when I saw it. I thought it may have been like a country hotel but it is a busy highway truck stop over not suitable for normal residence. Misleading advert.
Convenient and cheap.

Top Tips
- Allow at least 10-15 minutes for train travel from Birmingham Airport (BHX) to Coventry, since Coventry Airport (CVT) has minimal public transport and little scheduled service. Confirm your airport on your booking, as most international arrivals use BHX for smoother onward rail links.
- Reserve your hotel at least 3-4 weeks in advance for major events like the Godiva Festival, concerts at the CBS Arena/NEC, or Coventry University term starts, since hotels can fill up and prices can rise by up to 40%. Monitor specific event dates to avoid peak rate periods.
- Choose accommodation within 400-1200 m (5-15 minutes’ walk) of Coventry railway station for direct access to fast trains to Birmingham, Birmingham Airport, and London. This location lets you explore the UK’s Midlands more efficiently in a day.
- Check parking availability and nightly fees with your hotel before arrival, as many Coventry properties charge £6-£15 (approx $15-19 USD) and may have limited or first-come, first-served spaces. Confirm if EV charging points are available if you need to recharge your vehicle.
- Business guests can request guaranteed high-speed Wi-Fi (at least 30 Mbps), meeting rooms, or workstation access at booking, as in-room desk space and speeds differ by property. Confirm your allowance for remote work before you arrive.
- Check breakfast hours and what’s included, as budget hotels may offer limited choices or a boxed meal for early departures. Buffet windows often close by 9:30 a.m. and child pricing can vary, so clarify in advance for cost planning.
- Verify your hotel’s late check-in and early check-out policies, especially if your flight or train is before 7 a.m. or after 11 p.m. Ask about luggage storage and 24-hour reception, and request written confirmation by email.
- Bring a UK Type G plug (230V) for your devices, and plan to pay with a credit/debit card, as most Coventry hotels are now cashless for both check-in and incidentals.
- Carry your passport or UK/EU photo ID and the payment card you booked with for check-in. UK hotels lawfully need ID for all bookings, and some may place a £25-£100 security hold (approx $31-120 USD) as a deposit.
- Review and compare cancellation or flexible booking policies: non-refundable rates may be up to 20% lower, but flexible options let you reschedule in case an event is cancelled. Always check terms before finalizing.
- Confirm any updated health and safety rules with your hotel. While most COVID measures in the UK are lifted, some properties maintain daily cleaning or request masks in lifts and common areas. Ask about protocols before arrival.
- Tipping is optional in the UK, but add 10-15% in restaurants if service isn’t on the bill. For hotel porters or housekeeping, £1-2 per bag or service (about $1.25-2.50 USD) is typical. Check if a service charge is already included.
- Expect quiet hours from 11 p.m., and light sleepers should ask for a room away from lifts or the street. If you’re attending an event or need extra quiet, request this when you book to help minimize noise.
- Uber, local taxis, and Stagecoach buses cover most routes in Coventry. Booking a hotel near the station may save up to 20% on taxi costs. Check public transit schedules for late-night journeys or early departures.
- Use your in-room safe or the hotel’s secure storage for your passport and valuables. Ground floor and budget properties may have fewer security features, so inspect room locks and report issues immediately for support.
- Book at least a month ahead for Coventry University open days or graduations, as family demand can raise prices by 25% or more. Confirm university dates early and compare rates for best value.
- Request accessible rooms, step-free access, or cots during your booking if needed. Confirm the hotel’s adaptation level, such as bathroom handrails or lifts, by email to guarantee your requirements are met.
- Ask hotel staff for free local maps, transit routes, or recommendations on Coventry's sites, as many are within 1-2 km of central hotels. For dietary needs or special check-outs, confirm arrangements by email for clarity.
