This is South Beach with the volume turned down. Set a few blocks from the party crowds along Ocean Drive and sprawling all the way west to encompass Belle Isle, this area offers a more laid-back vibe. The strip of candy-colored art-deco masterpieces along Ocean Drive is stunning during the day, but when the sun goes down the whole place takes on a carnival atmosphere, with open-air bars, breezy sidewalk cafes and restaurants packed with romantic couples and groups of young people enjoying a weekend getaway. The area's small boutique hotels range from fun and funky to glitzy and glamorous, but they're all in smartly updated older buildings that share views of the world-famous beach. Parking is limited, and resort fees add a bit to the bottom line.
Clevelander Hotel

Location on the strip, right across the street was the beach. Never ate on the strip, I'm vegan so there were some good options. Under the Mango tree was less than a mile walk. Apple A Day was little over a mile, still walking distance, but worth the walk
When I arrived I was notified that my reservation was canceled and I didn’t have a room. They staff admitted it was an over booking error on their part.
