Grand Beach Hotel Surfside

What stood out most about this property was the Staff (Rueben at the front desk is a star) and the outdoor spaces especially the rooftop pool - which was next level great. The location is very good .. right on the beach and a block away from lots of restaurants. I can definitely see myself coming back.

We had a Sunset Suite. The Suite itself while very clean and modern was on the small side and felt cramped. The decision to add a second bathroom does not seem like a wise one as it didn't contribute much our stay. I feel that the space could have been better used. Overall it the suite felt more like an enlarged cruise ship balcony stateroom than a suite. Was annoyed by the mini-bar and all the fridge space taken up by $9.50 corona's and all the counter space taken up by $7.50 pringles. I really don't understand this business model. I can't imagine that it brings in much profit as i don't know anyone whose ever ordered anything from or had a good thing to say about a hotel mini-bar.

At the pool it felt less clean, and it is also small and rather crowded.The hotel is also far from central places, but that’s great for those who want peace and quiet

The location is great, the view is outstanding. The room is nice and the bed is comfortable, but, and there is a big but- the AC motor is located inside the room! Therefore the noise is so strong. I needed to decide to sleep in silence but without AC or other way. At least it wasn’t to hot.. I didn’t like that there is no breakfast buffet, if you choose to eat breakfast at the hotel you eat at their restaurant and the options are limited. Unfortunately the check-in experience was very unpleasant for me, I have arrived at around 10 pm, the gentleman in the entrance didn’t assist me with my luggage- usually it’s not a problem but all their hallways are with carpets what makes taking to suitcases very hard task till your room. The last and most important part is that the lady at the reception was so rude! She didn’t want to explain me anything when checkin in, the first thing she asked me is to provide her my CC , I’ve mentioned that the order was pre-paid via booking but still she insisted to charge me again. After few min her colleague came and told her that there is no need, it didn’t stop there, she was unpolite , rude, when I asked her about the activities in the hotel and location of all the amenities such as pool, beach restaurant etc she asked me what it’s your first time here? I told her yes, even though she asked me this in the beginning of the checkin. Till the end of the checking I didn’t receive from her any information , just the room key, and floor number. This is a very unpleasant and unprofessional way. I’m not sure she is qualified to work in reception if she do not have the ability to provide a proper guidance when a person is checking in to the hotel.

They allow a lot per room so the hotel has a lot of people and a lot of big families.

The location is great. Walking distance to the ocean, restaurants, shops,etc.

The air conditioning did not work and I had to ask for help multiple times. They would make an adjustment and it would fail again. The front desk said that they would "take care of me" but never did. Even when I called, I sat on hold and the manager never answered or called back.

The door is not sealed, you will hear noise from the hallway all the time.AC was very noisy when turning on and off.

After checking out we took an uber to train station. On the way I remember that I forgot my winter jacket in the room. We called them to check it and they told me that they check the room and found nothing.We called them too many times and the answer was same. It is very annoying to face such a situation. I m very sure that someone took it. This is very disappointing

We loved the hotel, the lobby is gorgeous. The staff is polite, kind and professional. The hotel has its private bitch which is very clean and they provide chairs and umbrellas.

We loved our room, BUT a few things made this hotel feel CHEAP. Coffee is bad. AC is loud. Shower products are cheap with no smell. No drinking water provided in the room. If the hotel will fix these things, it will be a 100% the best hotel!
