We knew what to exact with Hampton Inns, and this one delivered! It was clean and comfy. The bed was great, and I really liked the shampoo, etc. Breakfast was good, and we enjoyed the pool. The location was great to visiting downtown Staunton.
Both of the check in and check out people were extremely nice! I was in a hurry to get on the road the morning I got up, and the checkout lady had a bag ready to hand me for breakfast on the road and even encourage me to take an extra banana.

Top Tips
- Book your Waynesboro hotel 4-8 weeks in advance for October weekends, as local properties on major holidays often reach full capacity and nonrefundable rates are common on peak dates. To secure your preferred room type, book early and review the cancellation policy at the time of reservation.
- Allocate 20-40 minutes to drive from Waynesboro hotels to Rockfish Gap or Afton Mountain for Blue Ridge Parkway access, as traffic varies by hour. Hotels adjacent to I-64 offer the fastest morning departures; confirm if complimentary breakfast hours match your planned schedule.
- Charlottesville–Albemarle Airport (CHO) is 30-40 minutes by car from Waynesboro, with rental cars or rideshares recommended for flexible travel. Major hotel brands may offer partner discounts or car rental desks, so ask about options before booking.
- Hotels along I-64 or US-250 provide direct, step-free access to on-site parking, supporting quick departures for Skyline Drive. Historic downtown inns often have only street or metered parking; contact the front desk in advance to confirm accessible parking availability.
- Refuel and stock up on water or snacks at Waynesboro gas stations located along I-64 and US-250, as the Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive can each have stretches over 30 miles without services. Hotel front desks can give directions to the nearest 24-hour station if needed.
- Independent Waynesboro restaurants commonly close by 9-10 pm. For late arrivals, select hotels with a convenience market, 24-hour vending, or in-room dining, or ask for a grocery store open after 10 pm.
- When booking historic downtown B&Bs and inns, request a ground-floor room or check for elevator access, as many pre-1950 buildings have only stairs. Guests with mobility needs should confirm accessible room availability directly with the property.
- Verify Blue Ridge Parkway and Skyline Drive road status the morning of your trip, as closures for weather or maintenance may begin before 7:00 am. Find current alerts on the National Park Service website or app.
- For loyalty perks such as late checkout or guaranteed room type, national chains near I-64 typically honor benefits more reliably than independent inns. To maximize loyalty points, ensure the hotel participates in your program before booking.
