It was in a friendly neighborhood, the locals, and the local food around it was wonderful.
The hotel had no parking. They charged me a extra cash deposit. The room was dirty and had roaches upon arrival. I was told they would clean it in the morning and that did not happen. This ended up leaving me with nowhere to stay.

Nothing good about the hotel! No parking. Breakfast was horrible. I felt for my safety from a disturbance I heard in the room next to mine at 1am and threats were sent. No hot water. Broken heater in my room. Poor management. Overall experience was BAD!

That it was close to Yankee Stadium
The main reason for choosing the hotel was that it is close to Yankee Stadium as we were going to a game (Yankees lost :D). I think for the price, the stay was great, and Yankees loosing was icing on the cake.

Top Tips
- Book your Bronx hotel 4-8 weeks ahead of major events at Yankee Stadium. Hotels within 0.5 miles (800 meters) of 161st St/Yankee Stadium typically see rates rise 50-150% on game and concert nights. For the lowest rates and room selection, schedule booking just after the event calendar is released.
- Select a hotel within a 10-15 minute walk (up to 0.7 miles/1.1 km) of 161st St - Yankee Stadium to avoid heavy subway crowding after events. Staying close can reduce your post-game wait for lines 4, B, and D by 20-40 minutes compared to those farther out.
- Take Metro-North to Fordham station for the Bronx Zoo and New York Botanical Garden. This route reduces Manhattan travel time, and both attractions are within a 5-15 minute walk (0.3-0.7 miles) from the station. Check real-time MTA schedules for off-peak travel.
- Choose Riverdale or Fordham neighborhoods if you need onsite or adjacent lot parking. Hotels here typically charge $15-40 per day for parking and offer quieter street settings than busy event districts. Confirm parking availability when booking.
- For accessible accommodations at older Bronx hotels, confirm accessible room features, such as step-free access, roll-in showers, elevator, and visual alarms, 48-72 hours before arrival. Request written confirmation to ensure your needs are met.
- Follow NYC hotel tipping customs: tip bell staff $15 per bag, housekeeping $15 per day, and concierge $15 for help with local bookings. Many top hotel chains support cashless tipping options; ask at reception about hotel-specific guidance.
- Bronx hotel tap water is safe to drink. Bring a refillable water bottle to minimize plastic use, and most hotels will refill your bottle at the front desk at no charge. Discover NYC’s acclaimed water quality, filtered from upstate reservoirs.
- Use NYPD CompStat maps to review recent neighborhood safety trends before booking. Compare incident rates by block or precinct at NYC.gov for up-to-date, block-level data, and ask the front desk about seasonal local safety tips at check-in.
