Definitely a bare bones motel. Make sure you have everything you need. Your phone chargers, your slippers for the wood floors. Even your food. But all I wanted was a clean bed and it was very clean and the staff was great.

Top Tips
- Book hotels near Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) 21 or more days in advance to secure rates 25-40% lower than last-minute prices. Flexible cancellation is widely available at major chains, allowing confident early booking.
- Confirm complimentary shuttle service before booking. About 45% of Sea-Tac area hotels charge $8-15 USD per ride, so check that 'complimentary round-trip' is clearly stated to avoid $16-30 USD surcharges. Shuttle frequency may vary based on property and time of day.
- Expect a 3.5% Tourism Improvement Area (TIA) surcharge on all stays within one mile of Sea-Tac, applied on top of the standard 10.1% Washington state lodging tax, for a total tax of 13.6%. This is mandatory at all hotels in the covered area.
- Consider hotels in Federal Way (3.8 miles south) or Tukwila for room rates 18-22% lower than those near the terminal, with shuttle times differing by less than seven minutes. Confirm hotel shuttle or Link light rail availability from these locations directly before booking.
- Choose hotels with direct Sound Transit Link light rail access to reduce terminal transfer time to eight minutes. DoubleTree by Hilton Sea-Tac and Seattle Airport Marriott are about 0.4 miles from SeaTac/Airport Station; confirm the walking path is accessible and does not require crossing major roads.
- Request an upper-floor room to minimize aircraft noise exposure. Noise levels on ground and second floors can exceed 75 dB during peak arrival times (5-8 AM, 7-10 PM) while upper floors typically average 58-62 dB. Early requests for upper floors are recommended, as these rooms are often limited at peak times.
- Select airport hotels with 24/7 front desk service if arriving after 11:30 PM, since about 30% of budget hotels restrict late check-in and more than 1,200 passengers arrive late nightly. Confirm the late check-in policy directly with the hotel before booking.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at hotel kiosks, since it can increase charges by 18-22%. DCC is often the default, so explicitly select 'Decline' and choose to be charged in USD for proper conversion by your card issuer.
- Check for step-free access beyond ADA labels, as only about 60% of 'accessible' rooms in major hotels have roll-in showers. Call and request detailed descriptions or photos of accessibility features to make sure they meet your needs.
- Use tap water, which meets EPA standards and is fluoridated, instead of bottled water. King County tap water tests show no lead exceedances, making it safe for drinking, and most top chains offer refill stations for in-room water bottles.
- Select mid-tier chains like Hyatt House or Hilton Garden Inn for reliable Wi-Fi speeds of 85-110 Mbps, while budget hotels average 12-35 Mbps with congestion after 8 PM. Some brands offer premium Wi-Fi for loyalty program members at no extra cost.
- Tip housekeeping $2-5 USD per night by leaving it in an envelope labeled 'For Housekeeping'. Ask the front desk for envelopes or use your own, and consider tipping daily to ensure the correct staff member receives it, as 78% report inconsistent gratuity receipt.
