The location was good
Not applicable. Upon arrival the camp host had no idea of my reservations, I expected a quaint little cabin in the woods to share with my wife and child, instead got labeled as sketchy as showing up without a reservation, when I did make a reservation.etc

Location. It is close to everything we wanted to see
It's sandy there; our shoes brought in sand and grit. There were no rugs inside nor outside the entrance to the room. The bathroom clean but no place to put things we need to use upon leaving the room. Lighting system for room lacked ease of use.
The price was good. The room had a refrigerator and microwave.

Great location right by the beach. Close to downtown - about a half mile walk to the main area with all the restaurants and shops. The whiskey bar at the sister hotel was fantastic too.

Great location and complimentary drinks at arrival which was really nice. The rooms had fun surprises to make it special.
Very close to cannon beach and haystack rock. Great for beach access and daily walks on the beach. We also liked that the hotel provided nightly bonfires on the beach for an additional cost. Staff was amazing! Very friendly and informative.
I enjoyed the ocean view and room service.

The location is great to get to the beach. But the location is also south of most of the shops if you want that. Overall, the rooms all have a gorgeous view.
Every room has an ocean view, even though it's across the street from the beach. Small fridge, microwave & coffee maker are in the rooms, but we would always go down to the lobby to get our free brews. Staff are warm & personable. Free parking & Wifi.
The staff were friendly & professional. Room was very clean and spacious. Comfortable beds. Very pet friendly although we did not have ours with us this trip.

It was in a great area, right across from the beach. The hotel was very clean and had great amenities including a continental breakfast, multiple sitting areas outside, a firepit, chairs to rent to take to the beach and more.
Bunnies. And cookies. And breakfast. And everything,
All the special little extras that were value added like the cookies, taffy, coffee, DVDs, and Games. The breakfast was very good and they did not rush you to get out at 10:00. Staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds are very nice too.

There are not enough stars in the halo high enough to rate this hotel.. The rooms are fabulous, the grounds are beautiful, the breakfast delicious! The staff are the best I have ever met anywhere in the world. I would highly recommended this hotel .
I liked that although I couldn't see the ocean, there were windows facing the coastline and it was a short walk to the beach. The staff/service and facilities were above and beyond what I was expecting.

Top Tips
- Reserve oceanfront rooms 4 to 6 months in advance for summer at Rockaway Beach. Rates rise 40-60% from June to August, and top options are frequently booked by February. Comparing hotel loyalty rates may offer additional savings or perks for early bookings.
- Confirm the hotel's pet policy before booking. 65% of local rentals and hotels allow dogs, often with nightly fees between $15 and $50. For extended stays, some chains waive pet fees - check with the property for multi-night discounts.
- Mid-week stays (Monday to Thursday) can be 15-30% less expensive than weekends, especially outside holiday periods. Opting for these dates at Rockaway Beach increases availability and may offer quieter amenities.
- For last-minute winter stays (December to February, excluding holidays), compare rates on online agencies like Expedia. Hotels often discount unsold rooms by 30-50%. Verify directly with hotel websites for price matching or loyalty benefits.
- If visiting during storm season (November to March), request upper-floor rooms to avoid debris from high winds and flooding. Accessible ground-floor rooms may be available if needed; specify accessibility preferences at booking.
- Downtown Rockaway Beach parking averages $15 per day, with limited free spaces within 0.3 miles of the beachfront. Pre-book hotel parking if available, especially in summer or for accessible parking accommodations.
- If you need reliable Wi-Fi for work, confirm anticipated speeds before arrival. Average hotel rates are 25-50 Mbps, but some properties still use DSL (below 10 Mbps). Request upgraded connectivity or designated workspaces if needed.
- Bring cash for small local vendors: 5-10% do not accept cards, and markets or food trucks may set a $15 card minimum. Most hotels offer ATMs onsite or nearby; check location in advance if planning cash purchases.
- Choose accommodations with kitchens or kitchenettes to save on dining. Restaurant meals average $18 to $30 per person, while groceries run 15% lower than in Cannon Beach. Some hotels offer kitchen facilities or complimentary breakfast; confirm at booking.
- During storm watch weekends, wave surges near beachfront hotels can reach balconies. For a quieter and drier stay, select accommodations at least 0.5 miles inland, which often feature enhanced weather protection.
- Ask about firewood policies for fireplace rooms. Some hotels ban outside wood to prevent pests. Local vendors sell pest-treated bundles for $8 to $12, or request bundled firewood with your room if the hotel offers it.
- Expect a 10-15% Transient Occupancy Tax added to your nightly rate at Oregon coast hotels. Review your booking summary for a clear total including these taxes.
- 'Ocean View' rooms may only partially face the water, while 'Oceanfront' means direct, unobstructed views and close beach access. A 20-40% price difference is common. Request clarification or photos if views are a priority.
- Coastal weather on the Oregon coast shifts quickly; pack layers even in summer. Mornings and evenings average 45-55°F (7-13°C), with afternoons up to 70°F (21°C). Rain is possible year-round. Ask your hotel about complimentary umbrellas or rain gear.
