The location of the hotel was good but everything else was horrendous.
Location to Fish Market and cruise terminal. Heads up, they charge for the shuttle to the cruise port. $10 per person to go less than 1 mile.

We liked that the coffee, cocoa, etc. were accessible 24 hours. Also they provided a secure are to put our luggage until we could check in. The morning person at the desk was awesome. She also suggested a deli down the street that had the best pastrami!

The location and price both are amazing
It felt like my own little apartment which was nice.
We went on vacation and were on two occasions tricked by hotels. This was our last hotel before we left California and it was like a breath of fresh air. The bed was cozy. Pillows were plush and we had enough space for a pack and play.

Top Tips
- Book San Pedro hotels 30 to 45 days in advance for weekend stays from May to September, as Catalina Express primarily schedules morning ferry departures during these months, which increases local hotel demand. Compare flexible and non-refundable rates for better value during this high-traffic window.
- Reduce nighttime noise from Port of Los Angeles cruise operations by selecting an inland or west-facing hotel room, which helps avoid ship engine sounds and dock lighting. If you are sensitive to noise, request your preferred room orientation when booking or at check-in.
- Prioritize hotels within a 10 to 20 minute walk (0.5 mile) of 6th Street or the LA Waterfront to reach the Catalina Express terminal, downtown promenade, and local restaurants without extra transit cost. Many hotels offer walking maps or area guides at the front desk to help you explore the harbor district.
- Check hotel parking fees before booking, as rates vary from free to $15 to $25 per night, and some properties charge for self-parking or valet. If you have special requirements, request parking details such as electric vehicle charging or oversized vehicle availability.
- Allocate 45 to 90 minutes for transfers to LAX or downtown Los Angeles during peak travel periods, as Harbor Freeway congestion can increase transit times. Scheduling airport shuttles or rideshares in advance helps avoid delays during the 07:00-09:00 and 16:30-19:00 rush hours.
- San Pedro does not have direct Metro rail service, so plan to use Metro or local buses or rideshare apps for public transit, especially for early morning ferry or cruise departures. Request hotel shuttle services if available, and confirm weekday versus weekend public transit timetables.
- Avoid leaving valuables in vehicles at waterfront parking lots, as the area has reported petty thefts and break-ins near beaches. Use your hotel’s secure luggage storage or keep all items locked in your trunk and out of sight to lower risk.
- If you need step-free access or have heavy baggage, request a ground-floor or accessible room in advance, as many San Pedro motels are low-rise properties (2 to 3 stories) without elevators. Confirm elevator, ramp, or accessible room features with the hotel before arrival.
