Radisson Blu Hotel, Durham

We just found our room very hot and did not know how to adjust the temperature, so we ended up turning the heating off and opening the window. Also, as the bathroom was a wet room, it did mean most of the floor was wet after someone had had a shower.

The room was comfortable and had a river view which was nice. Generally the hotel is well kept and smart.

I went to a function and the food was pretty basic for a pre-xmas event. I also found the charge for the car park too high, when you are staying in the hotel anyway.

Very nice comfy very clean even had bath and shower nice bar very very friendly breakfast was amazing no shortage for anyone especially had bad head that sorted it really lovely and friendly staff in and out felt vip don't get that often

Booking in on computer while others by reciption and difficult getting attention but they were very very busy 3pm all booking in but staff seemed very good under pressure and still friendly I was customer service manager so they were very good maybe our patients good been better they were very professional

Staff were helpful and friendly. The lobby and hotel in general is very nice, clean, and comfortable. It's in a quieter but walkable location down by the river.

The cushioned headboards were cracked and peeling in our room. This was surprising given the standard of the rest of the hotel.

Clean and comfortable. Myself and 2 friends have started to go annually, this year we had a fantastic room and will request again next year.

The spa day, was not so good this year. Too busy and all 3 of us agreed the treatments received last year were better.Should there be set times for the 3 hrs spar days, when the pool is not open to the hotel guests. It defeats the object of a relaxing spa day,.the space is too small to accommodate both at once.

Friendly staff, super comfortable beds, nice pool, everything clean

Restaurant Jozef was disappointing. Food mediocre, staff friendly but a bit distracted, very expensive for the quality. Kids chicken nuggets were a bit spicy so kid would not eat them (world's pickiest kid to be fair but there must be other kids who don't do spice). I asked about getting more bread twice and different waiters went off to ask the kitchen and never returned.

Great location

Only 1 coffee/tea per person, no biscuits, fridge or water. There was a water/ice station without water. Shower screen was broke, kept opening. Not like our usual stay. Quite disappointed as it was my birthday and was so looking forward to our stay.

Room was excellent (if a little warm). Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. No biscuits in the room though!! Brixton pale ale was a lovely pint.

Only niggle was the bar...was told it closes at midnight. We arrived back at 23:45 and it was closed. Told that if it's quiet they close early. Not very helpful. There were 7 guests that arrived back at the same time, wanting a night cap, I would have thought the bar could have been reopened for this amount of people. Or even better, a residents bar, given it's a city centre and people are likito arrive back quite late. Pool was a little too cool and the sauna was closed to a re-fit.

The lobby and location were nice

Rooms were cheap looking, dated and dirty. Stains on the carpet, peeling headboard and cheaply constructed furniture in dire need of an upgrade. Bathroom was like something from a travel lodge. Staff were not friendly. Checkin was self serve on a computer which required several steps to go through. It wasn’t quick.

Clean and warm

Every time someone went toilet and flushed it was like a fog horn going off so mainly when you sleeping at night it wakes you up

Room was big, great view, great bed. Bar area was good (air conditioning too cold - for us). Restaurant was good, service excellent. Parking was good.

Nothing to improve for us

Everything met our expectations. Room was comfortable, breakfast was very good and location was ideal for seeing the city centre. The hotel was easy to find and onsite car parking was very good.

No complaints or improvement suggestions.

The room was outdated, my headboard was peeling and the windowsill was dirty and I found a bug in my coffee area

Very basic for a Radisson where i often use. Beds were tiny, no mini fridge and not even a bottle of water in the room. The breakfast was very poor and at dinner was charged £30 for a burger and a pint. Many higher quality small hotels around for next time

The property is in excellent conditions. The rooms are spacious and well kept. There's ample parking and the location is convenient for the city center.

Very lovely location with great staff.

Could have used a place to hang up towels, and robes would have been nice. For this price breakfast could have been included.
