It was an awful stay. Kids next door were running around and screaming from 1-4am. Called front desk, no one answered. The hallways smelt like it was a party with people smoking cigarettes & marijuana. It was terrible, I did not get one ounce of sleep!!
Location to our event and the highway
It was close to the convention center

Room was nice but the river view was a view of the highway so that?s sold wrong. Good location for great restaurants

I recently stayed at the Best Western hotel in New Brunswick, NJ for 15 days and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was perfect. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. The location was also ideal. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

The breakfast was excellent and the beds were comfortable
I felt like the staff members were overworked (there were 6 guests in line when checking in and the phone rang 3 times while waiting to be checked - and 1 front desk guy) - but he handled every guest with kindness and was helpful.
Good food and friendly staff. Close proximity to convention center

It was horrible and dirty. I booked there reading your reviews but the place was like a hell
Nothing special
It's 3 minutes walking distance to my job. It's also convenient for the fact that there was a lot of stores walking distance.  front desk was very pleasant. He gave me the best customer service.

Cleaniness and staff
Super clean Front desk was great customer service
The hotel was very clean. That was the biggest thing preventing me from giving it less of a rating. Pool was too cold as it wasn't heated, front desk guy was rude, but manager was helpful.

Horrible experience after checking in at 12am they turn on the fire alarm at 8:25 to get everybody check out early out of the hotel, then they said no refund was not available they said, will not recommend.
The hotel staff at the front desk, in particular, hotel employee was excellent.

The breakfast is fantastic! The overall stay is quite comfortable but I wish there were queen size beds instead of double beds. Beds are comfortable but not spacious. Love that the bedroom is separated from the living room with a door.
The hotel has to get their heating system fixed because it?s was cold and I had to change my room at 1:30 am in the morning.
Good value. Spacious rooms.

Top Tips
- Discover value by booking hotels in South River or East Brunswick, located 3-6 miles from downtown New Brunswick. These areas frequently offer complimentary parking, while downtown properties often charge $15-30 USD daily. Confirm parking policy in advance if arriving by car.
- Rates spike during Rutgers home football games and late May commencements in New Brunswick. To secure better pricing, book 3-6 weeks early if visiting on those dates, or select alternate weekends for lower rates.
- Prioritize hotels within 1 mile of New Brunswick or Metropark NJ Transit stations if train access to NYC is important. Trains reach Penn Station in 30-45 minutes; check current schedules for early or late departures.
- Expect a 35-60 minute rideshare to Newark Liberty Airport (EWR) from South River, typically costing $45-75 USD each way. Confirm current ride pricing and allow extra time during peak hours.
- Suburban hotels often require a $50-200 USD pre-authorization hold on your credit card at check-in. Call ahead to confirm or request a reduced hold amount, and consider using a credit, not debit, card to avoid holds on cash funds.
- Since South River does not have a direct NJ Transit rail stop, allow 10-20 extra minutes to access New Brunswick or Metropark stations by local bus or car. Plan routes in advance, and ask your hotel about shuttle options.
- Choose hotels along Route 18 or US-1 (East Brunswick or Edison) for easy access to national dining chains, grocery stores, and highways. This location is suited for travelers needing quick on or off access and nearby services.
- Request rooms with wired Ethernet or ensure Wi-Fi speeds of at least 100 Mbps if working remotely. Some budget-friendly motels in the area report variable bandwidth; confirm speed and device limits at booking.
- Before arriving, verify pool and fitness center schedules with your hotel, as some suburban properties close amenities for maintenance or off-season. If accessibility features are required, confirm details for facility access in advance.
