    Pros +

    • The space and the views we had from our 2nd floor bedroom were superb
    • The Hotel and the location are great as we traveled by train and then bus and the bus stopped right outside the hotel which was fantastic. The staff were exceptional and friendly and the breakfast was top class. We return here time and time again. The nightly stays could be slightly cheaper as we paid £300 for the two nights plus the cost of our dog.
    • The location is perfect, just a few minutes walk to the lake . The food from breakfast to evening meals were all really nice. All the staff were very friendly and helpful especially Helen who helped us out on a couple of occasions.

    Cons -

    • Disappointed the first floor terrace for eating was not open
    • We had room 1 which was near kitchen extractor - so food smells came into the room when we had the window
    • I could not fault it. It was a pleasure to stay

Immaculate modern room with comfortable bed and Juliet window Delicious breakfast, staff were friendly Loved the location

We knew we had booked a small room but it was really comfortable, clean and well decorated. Really good tea ,coffee, and biscuits in the room. When I asked for a second chair for watching TV, it arrived promptly and without any negativity.Food was good, well cooked and and the staff were great, really chatty without being a nuisance. Beds and bedding were very comfortable and super clean. Duvets and pillows perfect.

I could not fault it. It was a pleasure to stay

Breakfast was okay. The rom was comfortable and clean. It was bank holiday weekend and the staff seemed exhausted. The area was unpleasantly overcrowded.

Breakfast ,plenty of options very good cooked breakfast.

Liked everything about the hotel the village was excellent.

The location was great. Lots of choice for breakfast

On the evening because we hadn't booked a table for food we're told we could only have a seat inside for 30 mins. We then couldn't get served even when not busy. Served people on other side of bar

Lovely place, in a beautiful setting. Breakfast was excellent, fresh quality ingredients and a choice of sizes

The room was on 2nd floor the stairs were steep, as I have mobility issues

    9LynnPosted on: 4-14-2025

The staff were so helpful, mattresses need replacing as i kept slipping off the bed, but it was only for 1 night

    9PaulPosted on: 4-10-2025

Food along with service was first class..Staff were excellent…worked continually ensuring needs were met.

Bedroom not suitable for our need - no walk in shower sloping ceiling made bathing difficult…staircase to bedroom a toilet.

Excellent location, and had parking. Room very well equipped with a lovely large bed and was very clean. The tea/coffee tray was one of the best I'd seen anywhere. Pooley Bridge is a lovely place to stay and you've got the river, Ullswater and all the activities and walks right on your doorstep. Large choice of drinks and food. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Lots of seating inside and out.

Staff amazing and friendly. Helen went above and beyond extending our stay for another night when we enquired. A slight mishap with the bill but cleared up by Carl promptly. A lovely stay. Will be back later in the year.

    Nothing.?x

The staff were exceptional!! The Food was great and the ambience was amazing. Absolutely loved every minute of our stay. The Balcony room was fabulous, well worth paying that little bit extra.

Breakfast was good, location was superb. Nothing too much bother for the helpful and pleasant staff.

Room very small for fairly big price

    10MarkPosted on: 3-4-2025

Location, staff, food & price. Rooms and communal areas are immaculate. Balcony with room a real surprise and bonus. The quietness of village over night is amazing.

Perhaps put Salt & Pepper pots on table - really struggling to think of anything else
