    • Great location near motorwayStunning groundsPleasant staffHuge roomGreat view

    • Staff were helpful when available

    Cons -

    • Rooms a bit faded gloryShower curtains - work of the devil !!Beds not very comfortableDripping tap. OK with door closed but still annoyingOne steak was a bit tough, OK but could be better
    • The main building is very tired and needs a makeover. The bath tap/shower mixer in Room 5 didn’t work, had to get maintenance to run it off as it jammed on. The rooms look old fashioned. The gym equipment is old.
    • The hotel itself has potential, but there were a few things that didn't sit right with me. Staffing felt quite limited. It's genuinely a bit of a maze. It seemed to be assumed that guests just knew where to go, but clearer guidance would have been helpful.Be aware that there are steep steps throughout the hotel, many without handrails—which I found quite dangerous. Signage was also very poor (or just not there in most areas), which didn’t help matters. On the plus side, the food was lovely, but it did take quite a while to come out, and prices felt steep compared to similar hotels and restaurants nearby. One final point to be aware of: there's a credit card hold taken at check-in for any potential damage. That might’ve been in the small print, so I’ll hold my hands up there, howver the way it was phrased at reception felt really uncomfortable. It would have landed much better if it was framed as covering room charges, rather than suggesting guests might cause damage.Overall, a few tweaks to communication, accessibility, and guest experience would go a long way.

Quiet surroundings, great nights sleep as the bed was very comfortable and the food was super. We has dinner in the restaurant in the evening and breakfast in the morning and both were high quality. The pool/sauna was relaxing nad not too busy either. What also left an impression is how friendly and welcoming all the staff were.

My room was a little cold but I spoke to reception and they turned the heating on, so can't fault them for this.

Location off the M6 and also big enough to cater for numbers. Staff in bars & restaurant helpful.Green golf spaces at the front

Golf club but no walking for non golfers. Did not use leisure centre.Room needs updating and disappointed with a view of bricks.

    Gym, restaurant, staff

Room 16 was awful, like a student hall of residence

    8MarkPosted on: 4-14-2025

Food was very good. Staff were exceptional in the bar, reception and restaurant. Spa was good, but not top tier. Staff and treatments were fantastic.

We were allocated a bridal suite room, which made us excited on arrival. However, the decor was a little tired and the room is in need of renovation. The ceiling above the shower was broken, with the shower and taps looking like they struggle with low water pressure. If renovated that room would be spectacular. Staff in the golf Pro Shop couldn’t be more disinterested if they tried. Early in the season and the greens are not in the best condition. The back nine are blighted by being so compact that there are shouts of Fore every few minutes. Not an enjoyable course for that reason.

Breakfast was excellent apart from Coffee machine the coffee was disgusting.

1 -Being told Booking.com booked us a double when we paid for a twin and had confirmation from booking.com.2-Attitude of Gentleman at reception/I am registered disabled and would not help with bags/Cases down 2 flights of stairs. Simply told there is no one available to help. He could have helped himself but could not be bothered and was very quiet at the time as there were only 4 rooms in the Hotel booked.3 - Deluxe rooms were rough/Shabby dirty carpets/Bathroom shower old electric no power and kept running Hot/Cold.4-Entrance to Hotel doors not opening properly for disabled access and no lifts to upper 2/3 floors.5-2 Tiny bottles of Coke Zero charged £9.50 so did not bother going in for anything else.6-Smell of paint in the room but no signs of any new clean work done.7-Could not have Tea/Coffee due to state of old dirty kettle / And back missing of back of remote for TV and TV Tiny for size of the room cheap and nasty all furniture.8- Bathroom is disgusting round bath peeling paint/Plastic/dirty grout and missing grout.9-Could not walk around room/Bathroom with out floor board creeking very loudly.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Food in the restaurant for evening meal and breakfast was fantastic

The spa area was a little cold when sat on the loungers. Clean but rooms could do with a little updating.

The public areas were lovely. Gym and pool area very nice. Staff friendly

The room was awful, dated and cold and the view from the window was a green mossy garden fence. I thought I had stepped back in time the headboard on the bed loose and kept banging wall every time you moved. I thought I would be opening the wardrobe and end up in Narnia

    7GemmaPosted on: 2-17-2025

The bed was very nice big.Quiet.Bathroom very clean.Staff lovley.

It is a lovely building with very nice areas. The breakfast was good and here are really good facilities.

The room was really small, no room to make a cup of tea. Didn't sleep for the 2 nights I was there. Shower was not very powerful.

    1AmyPosted on: 12-26-2024

The food included in our spa package was nice.

The spa was outdated and not well maintained, paint was peeling, it was dirty and the floors were slippy. The reception staff were incredibly rude. The bedrooms were outdated dirty and extremely uncomfortable. Shower was falling off the wall.

    3SashaPosted on: 12-16-2024

The communal areas are really nice and recently refurbished

The bedrooms are very dated the ceiling are asbestos tiles - felt like being in an office and the doors don’t lock on closing the room is dated and old fashioned and in desperate need of updates

    10AlexPosted on: 12-16-2024

A lovely hotel definitely worth the money,as you get use of the spa facilities the next day. Breakfast was freshly cooked and a good variety for everyone. I found the staff to be very helpful and good communication.

    8TimPosted on: 12-10-2024

The staff are a credit to the hotel, always polite and jolly. The food never disappoints also. The bed was really comfortable.I didn't try the gym, pool or Spa, but on my list to do in the future.

The rooms are a little dated and could do with a refresh.
