About
Located on the outskirts of the charming market town of Chorley, this former coaching inn is just a few minutes’ drive from historical attractions such as Astley Hall. Hartwood Hall's individually styled rooms all have a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV. Some rooms retain period features such as wooden beams, while all provide free Wi-Fi, ironing facilities and a hairdryer. Just an hour away from the beautiful Lake District, Chorley has its own themed amusement park. The town is also home to the largest Mormon temple in the UK, which attracts a number of overseas visitors. The hotel is adjacent to a fully licensed restaurant and bar, where a wide range of meals are on offer throughout the day and evening. Harwood Hall is just 0.5 miles from the M61, and 20 minutes’ drive from the towns of Preston and Bolton.

Pros +
- Friendly staff.
- Great Location, close to bus stop, the beautiful temple, and a few good restaurants. Room was smaller but still cost and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Very secure with a locked entrance but the area felt safe regardless. Even though it’s owned by the nearby restaurant it is in a separate building so there was no noise fromThe pub in the evenings. I would stay here again and also recommend.
- Room was really comfortable and clean. Great options for breakfast.
Cons -
- Pokey room, noisy.
- Nothing, I enjoyed my stay.
- Would definitely ask for a downstairs room next time, just for accessibility. The shower over the bath was the only disappointment. It was very awkward for me with mobility issues.
Friendly staff.

Location in proximity to where we needed to be the following day.
Very creaky bed (room 1). Walls to adjacent rooms very thin and there was high transmission of noise from the next room occupants. This felt at times like an invasion of privacy.
Breakfast comfy bed
Water pressure was poor to non took me a hour to wait for water pressure. Femail Toilets in pub were minging in the early afternoon.
Brilliant food and service
My room was too warm
Outstanding friendly staff, very clean and warm, atmosphere was very entertaining especially on day of check out will definitely be back x
Good food and good atmosphere. Easy to find from motorway.
Easy to get to, easy to find. Always nicer to stay at an inn than a hotel. Comfortable, cosy, easy free parking. Enjoyable stay. X
Very friendly staff, excellent service
Unfortunately we had noisy pipes in our room, which woke us up a few times.
Didn’t have breakfast but it was offered
A little close to the main road so good for location but a little noisy
Close to where I needed to be.
It felt like the room was once a closet and was turned into a bedroom. It looked a bit old with cracks in all corners.. The fan in the bathroom was fairly noisy when turned on first and quietened down after a minute.
Deent value for money; pub adjacent extremely practical; good public transport. Staff at check-in and pub were extremely friendly and gave a good service.
Room smelled a bit foul/stale assuming, coming from the bathroom, improved with the window open. Room was a bit restrictive for circulation, but manageable for a night of sleep.
Comfortable spacious rooms
Noise from roads an noisy people above us
Good location, lots of parking available. Clean and comfortable. Restaurant if needed.
Tv aerial needed replacing as held together with black tape.
Room was clean & tidy
Hotel is close to a main road & motorway junction which is good for access but also very near a hospital so emergency vehicle sirens can be heard quite loudly at times
Pretty average fare except the sausage were terrible, tasted of soap and looked digusting. A change of supplier is urgently needed.
Tiny ,hot bedroom.
Good location, comfy bed and clean bathroom, great breakfast.
Bed side lights were not working, new carpet and fresh paint of the wall could make it better.
A decent meal in the hotel restaurant in the evening
The radiator in the bathroom did not work (Room 1)
I had everything I needed. A clean , comfortable room that was ideally situated a minute from the hospital that I needed to be at the next morning. The staff were friendly and helpful, and requests were dealt with promptly.
I had trouble with the heating controls, which meant that I roasted all night!??
