    Pros +

    • The room was lovely, could have done with more sugar and tea as there were 4 of us in the room but it was a beautiful room. Breakfast had some lovely options and was good.
    • Breakfasts are genuinely great – hearty full English that's top-notch. The pub is properly cozy and very nice, with that classic pub feel: friendly staff, nice atmosphere, Guinness on tap—what else do you need?
    • Excellent location, super breakfast and lovely clean room

    Cons -

    • Was quite loud from people leaving the pub and main road one side.
    • On the main road so a bit noisy but nothing too bad
    • Fresh choices at breakfast would be nicer. The scrambled eggs were not fresh and the bacon and sausage were dry and mushroom clearly from a tin.

The location was ok but it is a walk into Alnwick and it was very wet so it wasn’t always convenient. The breakfast was poor. The staff were really friendly.

Fresh choices at breakfast would be nicer. The scrambled eggs were not fresh and the bacon and sausage were dry and mushroom clearly from a tin.

Good clean spacious room. Good food friendly staff

Bed was a little firm for my preference but that's a personal preference rather than an issue about the room

Wonderfully friendly staff. I arrived a bit later than I was hoping to, but the person who greeted me made sure I had belly full of delicious food and much needed beer after I put my luggage away in the room. Was travelling with my doggo, and every single staff member made a right old fuss of him.It felt like a really homely welcome.

Just a little ambient noise from the road nearby, but can't be helped due to the location. Slept right through.

The hotel was very easy to find. The room was large and well equiped. The breakfast was excellent. The price was very competitive.

There was noise from the male toilets in the pub downstairs. I could clearly hear the hand dryers and guys shouting in there. This woke me up at 22:30.

Staff were really friendly and welcoming, we stayed for dinner also which was delicious and big portion size (vegan burger). The room was warm, spacious and quiet- but a few steps away from the pub. Parking was great for our van, short walk into Alnwick.

Nice and quiet. Modern and clean room. Excellent choice of quality refreshments in room. Good choice of breakfast.

Location, friendly staff and value for money.Breakfast was excellent, ate two evening meals during my stay and both meals were excellent.

Bar closed early, when returning to hotel after 21.30 the bar was closed.

    10KeithPosted on: 2-1-2026

I was unable to have the breakfast due to job start time therefore I requested a packed lunch. This was provided with a choice of sandwich, fruit, chocolate and drink . I was able to adjust the room temperature to my liking.

    All good no issues.

I loved staying at The Oaks! It is such a lovely place, the building is beautiful, as is the entire town. The room was pristine clean, breakfasts are to die for and the people working there could not be more kind. Downstairs bar not only serves delicious food, but is a very pleasant place to spend time.

WiFi did not really work in the room, but it was okay in the bar.

Well-equipped , clean, comfortable and spacious room, large wash basin. Separate toiletries rather than 'squeezy bottles'. Easy clothes hangers.Tea and coffee available and I booked a meal in the restaurant. The staff looked up a bus timetable and list of taxis in case it was too wet to walk to the Playhouse. I was able to store my luggage and visit the 'Station' bookshop.

I was unable to work the shower.Lighting was rather low.

The staff were lovely and the service was very good. Good size room. Ironing board was very helpful! Breakfast was ok, could have done with being a little hotter. Good choice though, even had oat or soy milk.

The room was quite worn in places. Ripped wallpaper and paintwork needed a freshen up. The light mirror kept switching off in the bathroom. Even though there was a stool under the dressing table you couldn’t get your legs under and no direct lighting on there to do your make up. There was a lot of dust on the head board and behind the side tables, hair and dust. A bit more attention to detail needed with the cleaning.. the bed was very springing with no protectors under the pillow cases. Nobody likes to see dribble stains. 10 o’clock check out on a Sunday not the best either!

Friendly Helpfull Staff, Top Class Breakfast, Parking Facilities, Close to Town Centre & Very Good Value for Money

The whole place wasnice and welcoming. The breakfast was the best I have had at a hotel in a long time.

The only thing that I did not like was the bed, as it was hard, and found it hard to sleep well

    9AnthonyPosted on: 1-25-2026

Very large room and warm clean breakfast was great and no complaints

    Shower wasn't powerful enough

    8AlanPosted on: 1-23-2026

It was really clean and tidy, staff were friendly, bedrooms are basic but okay. Food was good and overall it served its purpose for my overnight stay.

My room was right on the busy main road and directly above the bar so a little noisy early evening. Some areas of the property need a little updating as looked tired. It is more of a pub with rooms.

    9BrianPosted on: 1-19-2026

    Clean, pleasant staff, lovely breakfast

Set table given for where you have to sit at breakfast leaves you wandering around the dining area rather than picking a vacant table

    10LisaPosted on: 1-19-2026

Wonderful location and cozy lovely room. We enjoyed a hot breakfast in the morning which was included and our server was such a happy and engaging lovely lady. Stayed 1 night and would highly recommend
