Not much. Location, that's about it. There pretty unorganized and have alot of issues that don't always get resolved right away. Only clean rooms every 2 to 3 days seems like. They always have problems with some customers

It had an effective heating system
After having people either break into my car or hit my car overnight while staying in Hickory, I now drive down an extra 5 minutes to this motel every time I'm in the area. It's one of the best budget motels I've stayed in.
There is no free breakfast A staff member entered my room at 10pm at night with a master key while we were asleep. He was bring a microwave and had the wrong room. But enter anyway without announcing who or what his intentions were. Very dissatisfied

Top Tips
- Book at least 2-4 weeks ahead for regular weekends, or 2-3 months in advance for major Statesville events like Carolina BalloonFest (October) or NASCAR weekends in nearby Charlotte. Rates can rise by 30% or more during high demand. Compare rates with flexible dates for the best price.
- Check guest reviews from the last 60 days on platforms like TripAdvisor or Google for hotel cleanliness, soundproofing, and secure parking. Compare at least two sources to spot consistent patterns for reliable service.
- Select a hotel near I-77/I-40 for highway access if driving, or explore downtown Statesville for walkable dining, shops, and historic B&B properties within 0.5 miles of Court Street.
- Most Statesville hotels include free onsite parking and high-speed Wi-Fi, but always confirm availability of EV charging or oversized vehicle spaces before arrival. Request written confirmation to avoid added fees.
- Expect 7-10% in state and local taxes added to North Carolina hotel bills. Calculate your total with taxes before finalizing to avoid surprises at check-in.
- At check-in, present a government-issued photo ID and either the booking credit card or an alternate for incidentals - common holds run $15 to $100 per stay. Ask the front desk about release timing.
- Statesville public transport is limited outside main routes; plan to rent a car or drive. Uber/Lyft arrivals may take 15-20 minutes longer than in larger cities during peak times.
- Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) is 40-60 minutes away by car; most hotels do not provide free airport shuttles. Confirm any shuttle cost and schedule directly with your hotel before departing.
- Pet policies, non-smoking rules, and accessible rooms (roll-in showers, step-free access) vary by property. For ADA features, call the hotel at least 48 hours before arrival to confirm availability.
- Tip bell staff $15 per bag, daily housekeeping $15 per day (leave with a note), and valet attendants $15. This aligns with local North Carolina service expectations.
- For a quieter stay, request a room away from elevators, vending, and ice machines. Standard check-in is after 3 pm, checkout by 11 am; request early or late times ahead, as fees often apply.
- Business travelers: Confirm high-speed Wi-Fi, available printers/scanners, and meeting spaces before booking. Some loyalty programs offer complimentary upgrades - ask about current promos.
- Families: Contact the hotel to reserve cribs, rollaway beds, and check pool hours or age limits before booking. Breakfast options range from continental to hot buffets; confirm if on-site dining meets your needs.
- Statesville is generally low-risk, but store passports and valuables in your in-room safe or at the front desk. Lock doors and windows, and use well-lit entrances, especially after dark.
- Front desk teams offer tailored suggestions for local attractions, like Lake Norman or local vineyards within a 15-25 minute drive. Ask for updated events or best dining nearby to enhance your stay.
- Present AAA, AARP, military, corporate, or hotel loyalty cards at check-in to unlock rate discounts or perks such as free breakfast or upgraded rooms. Compare direct booking benefits with third-party offers.
- Most local restaurants close by 9-10 pm. Confirm hours if arriving late or ask your hotel if 24-hour snacks, vending, or room service are available.
- Solo travelers can request rooms on mid-level floors near staffed areas for security. Use marked hotel shuttles and avoid isolated parking at night; store valuables discreetly.
- If you need an allergy-friendly room, medical equipment, or extra adaptors, notify the hotel 24-48 hours ahead. Written requests ensure priority handling for special needs.
- Expect high demand during festivals or race weekends - Statesville hotels can sell out 2-3 months prior. Check the city’s event calendar for exact dates and plan to secure a reservation before rates climb.
- Cancellation and refund policies vary widely. For flexible travel, book refundable rates or consider travel insurance. Event dates may have stricter non-refundable rules - confirm terms before payment.
