- I stayed for one night in a Deluxe Double Room with Shower (Room No 1). The hotel has no private car park facilities (which I was informed of beforehand) but there are public parking spaces directly in front of the hotel ... although I found convenient street parking quite close when I first arrived and decided to leave the car there overnight. The reception is located at the end of a narrow corridor and this is where I met up with a friendly chap called Aidan (sp?) who showed me to my room and assured me I'd picked the jewel in the crown and he wasn't wrong ... the room was HUGE and well appointed with a lovely double bed, ensuite facilities, decent amenities, a fridge and a sea view!I decided to go out and explore a few minutes after Aidan had left and bought some fish and chips from Glover & Co. just down the road (towards the football ground) and they were top notch and well worthy of a plug here! I then went to a couple of decent bars and eventually made my way back to the hotel. I then had a nightcap at the hotel bar which was all but deserted but playing really loud music (which I didn't really mind too much).I then went back to my room and availed myself of the coffee making facilities before retiring to what was a very comfortable and spacious bed. I had a nice refreshing shower in the morning in the decent sized shower room before handing in my keys and returning to my car and then making my way to the local Tesco for a lovely breakfast!
- Comfortable bed. Peace and quiet.
Cons -
- Bathroom had a sour smell Morning staff unaware that guests required a breakfast. Booking requests were not met.
- The lack of private car parking facilities although there was ample street parking which seemed safe and secure albeit there were waiting restrictioons in some areas but I don't know how diligently they're enforced. The loud music in the bar may not be to everybody's taste although it didn't go on too late.As the room was facing the sea and the main road there was a lot of seagull activity during the night and they made quite a lot of noise (even at around 03:00!) which is obviously beyond the control of the hotel! However, in addition to this noise there was a sporadic artificial noise (sounded electronic) which kept waking me up and also with the room being near to the hotel entrance and next to the staff room there was occasional human activity which created a disturbance throughout the night (not excessive but detectable given that I was already being disturbed by those pesky seagulls!) It pains me to write the previous paragraph as the bed was really comfortable and so my night's sleep should have been more relaxing than it was but I have to give an honest account although, of course, these factors might not be seen as problematic for other, less light sleepers!
- No USB charging facility.

For the price of the room not right rate
When we arrive there was only one person and she was rushed of her feet and when we got to the room the key didn't work so had to get a screw driver to fix the door handle and we did have a key to get back in our daughters key let us back in so wasnt good experience
The approach to the property wasn't very promising, as it was up a close. Keys were obtained from the bar of the pub downstairs, and the barmaid took us to the room, at the top of the building. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, with good quality bed linen, pillows and towels.Meals were not provided, but an excellent dinner was has at the adjacent Saltown Hotel.
The room was spacious, had all necessities and more (fridge was handy). Very clean, bed comfortable so we slept well. If you intend going fishing it is a perfect location to get on the boat.Staff is super nice and helpful.
Expect noises outside till about 1:30 am on Saturday night.
Room was lovely and clean, very spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was amazing (they even went out in the morning to get gluten free bread to make me toast). Staff were very nice too.
The only thing for me was the stairs as we were on the top (3rd) floor. We couldn't get the tv in the room to work and didn't fancy going all the way down to tell them but that wasn't a huge issue.
The room was spacious and clean and quiet although the council decided to move roadwork barriers outside very early in the morning which was annoying.
The room is plenty big enough for a king size bed and the double we had wasn't very comfortable.
It was a comfortable clean room for the night. It's a central location next to a busy bar but you can't hear a thing TBF . So park nearby or wait until after 1830 to park outside overnight.
Nothing really.
It was lovely very well appointed in a wonderful location. The staff all lovely and kind. I went out for dinner and came back to relax for the evening. Watched a little Netflix and slept reasonably well woke up a few times from noise in the street but no problem.

Location
Room was very cold, heating was only put on when we entered the room. But was sufficient to heat the whole room and room stayed freezing all night. The windows weren’t sealed properly and a draft was coming in.
Good
Heating not working! Stayed with u's. 4 times now & room always cold.due to heaters not working. .which is a shame as otherwise all good.
Friendly staff in an ideal location
Bathroom on the outside of room
Very friendly staff and cleaner went above and beyond such a delightful person the cleanliness was exceptional beautiful views easy to access extremely helpful we couldn’t have asked for more a great stay
Nothing we didn’t like extremely clean people in the bar were very friendly lady behind the bar absolutely lovely and helpful she carried my bags all the way to the top floor she went out of her way for me
We didn’t eat breakfast there so can’t comment.
There were far too many automatic air fresheners all over the hotel. The smell was cloying. Open windows and fresh air would be much better. On checking out we couldn’t find any members of staff and no one was answering the phone so we had to just leave the room key hooked over the door handle.
Very central Location. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was no breakfast menu but better than that the staff discussed with me what /I wanted and made suggestions so it was totally to my requrments
Friendly staffCleanQuietHomely
No complaints
Pleasant staff, clean room. Noisy customers in the bar could be heard from room.Breakfast expensive.
Being woken up about 1am from squawking and screaming people in the bar - not the staffs fault, and I did manage to get back to sleep. Breakfast was too expensive so I went elsewhere.
Nice and clean, plenty of parking after 6.pmThe bar attached was fine
Its let down by the town, all takeaways, only one Indian and pub meals,Toilet next door but I was aware of that.
The room was nice and spacious and had plenty tea & coffee provided along with bottled water which was nice.
I was rather disappointed that the Tv didn’t have any catch up channels along with their being a very poor selection of terrestrial channels & radio stations and the WiFi was always cutting out in my room on a regular basis
