Pros +
- Friendly staff and a quality facility.
- I loved the charm of the old building and how the renovations improved the property without losing the old charm. The staff was magnificent. So helpful and kind.
- Atmosphere and staff were great. Everyone was very nice.
Cons -
- The pillows were not very soft.
- Maid service only came once a week. Could've used fresh towels, replenished tea area and clean maybe 3 or 4 times a week. Also, a mini fridge would've really been helpful to have cold drinks.
- I asked for a quiet room but they put me in Buttercup which faced the busy A11. The window didn't shut well so the traffic noise was awful. There was also a strong chemical smell in the room from cleaning products.

Lovely pub; lovely decor in the room. Complimentary coffee and tea in the room and toiletries are provided.

The English Charm, friendly staff, quality of food at the pub and restaurant. The breakfasts were fabulous.
Our bed moved along the floor because it was not attached to a headboard, therefore we could not sit up in bed and read or watch tv without jamming our shoes under the wheels. Also, the mattress was quite hard and the pillows were quite flat. They could use a mattress topping on the Cowshed Bed.
It is in a convenient location; decor was really nice throughout the facility; clean and spacious room; and nice dinner staff.
Unfortunately, I did not sleep very well due to the hard and lumpy mattress, flat pillows, and rough sheets. I also could not manage to figure out how to turn the heat on in the room, so I remained rather cold during my stay.
Can't say it enough, what a great inn. The staff are amazing, the food delicious and the ambiance amazing.
New pillows on the bed and i prefer softer pillows, this wasn't a problem.
This was my second time staying here. The staff, rooms, food and atmosphere were exceptional.
Many rooms were being renovated, but this had no impact on my stay as they operated during the day and were courteous enough to come to my room to help open the window.
Absolutely everything. I can't state it enough, the staff are phenomenal and courteous. The inn has been renovated while maintaining the history. Great pub food, and amazing breakfast. Don't let my poor camera fool you with the lighting, it was great.
Nothing. Everything was fantastic.
Warm welcome at 10pm after traffic delays. Room was spacious and clean. Very good breakfast with warm greeting again. Comfy bed other than the pillows.
We were room 4 which is at the front facing the road so despite the additional window glazing it was quite noisy, perhaps the back of the hotel would be quieter. Pillows too hard for us.
Staff was very friendly, room was nicely decorated & comfortable and the location was nicely situated for easy access to the courounding area and RAF MIldenhall and RAF Lakenheath.
The only soap provided was hand soap in the sink and a few bottles of shampoo, not a problem as long as you are prepaired as a lot of UK hotels dont provide soaps. Additionally, twice the staff forgot about me when i ordered dinner. Took over 2-hours to get my dinner one night due to lost order.
Excellent location, great facilities, comfortable room, great food
TV remote went AWOL with previous occupant
Character building, nice room and breakfast. Staff friendlyGreat location for exploring the countryside
Slightly disorganised. 2/3 course Lunch menu did not have any of the starters available. Toilet seat in room very loose and spiders in the shower tray. The website says dog friendly but when I booked my room was not dog friendly. They only have 2 dog rooms and 1 of them was out of action. This was very misleading and cost me to get my dog minded separately while I was away. I informed management.
Complaint submittedcasking for refund re booking as it was so bad that we did not stay there and booked elsewhere at last minute via your site.
Cleanliness, unbelievable poor condition of rooms and lack of health and safety. Effected my wife’s health even though only there for 15 minutes with a room change that was just as bad as the first
Poor
The stairway up was dangerous no carpet and creaky. TV didn't work .step up into bathroom not marked tripped on it.Offered a change of room from large to very small. TV worked but only shower in Bath with no safety mat in bottom. Too dangerous for me to shower. The radiator was on at night but not in morning was cold.As the TV advert says should have got a Travelodge!! There was one just down the road at the roundabout and was £14 cheaper. The girl at the reception was very nice and did her best to help, well done.
The room was comfortable and the bath fabulous. Excellent value for money . We didn’t eat breakfast here .
We were happy with our stay .
We have been here several times before when it was a family run business. In a good location for us to visit family
attention to detail is no longer a priority. Need more staff.
Breakfast wasn’t the best, a few repairs going on the staircase but location perfect
There was a mix up with the booking but the duty manager was very professional and made appropriate changes. Staff were all warm welcoming. Food was lovely and service great
The overall look and feel of the place is amazing . So much history and character but also with all the mod cons you would expect The courtyard is a relaxing place for drinks with the option of the seated huts for say a more intimate gathering of friends or family. The rooms( we had the gold room) was clean, beautifully decorated ,spacious, enormous luxury bed. The bathroom was beautifully modern well stocked with toiletries and plenty of towels. With tea, coffee, bottled water all of a superior quality to what I would expect .The food inthe restaurant was delicious and good value for money and would fully recommend the breakfast The staff were all friendly and nothing was to much for them to accommodate us,especially a.j who went above and beyond her duties.Overall I cannot find fault with our stay and would like to thank Aiden and his team for a lovely weekend break ,I'm sure we shall return.
