God value for the money. Very friendly and helpful staff.
If the standard room at My Place has a kitchenette, that is probably why the motel doesn't serve breakfast. I am more likely to have a breakfast already made and just warm it up in the microwave than actually cook one in the room.

Top Tips
- Reserve Council Bluffs hotels 30-90 days in advance for early June stays, especially during the College World Series. Rates at both major chain and independent hotels often spike or sell out due to Omaha events. Set alerts for last-minute room releases if you need flexibility.
- Omaha Eppley Airfield (OMA) is the primary airport for Council Bluffs, with a typical drive to central hotels of 20-30 minutes via I-480 across the Missouri River. Confirm if your hotel offers complimentary airport shuttle service, as some national brands provide this by request.
- If arriving at the Council Bluffs Amtrak stop, arrange advance pickup; taxis, rideshares, or hotel shuttles connect you to the riverfront hotel and casino strip within 10-15 minutes. Contact your hotel before arrival to request accessible transportation if needed.
- During the spring storm season (April-June), ask about storm shelter procedures and accessible safe zones. Request a room near interior corridors or stairwells for faster evacuation, and confirm the location of visual alarms or alternate alerts if you have hearing needs.
- Choose riverfront or downtown hotels, such as Harrah’s, for walkable access within 0.5 mi to casinos and restaurants. Hotels along I-80/I-29 usually offer lower rates but are less pedestrian-friendly and require a car for downtown attractions.
- Confirm 24-hour front desk service, especially at smaller motels; major casino and national brand hotels generally provide round-the-clock assistance. If arriving after 10 p.m. at independent hotels, call ahead to verify late check-in and accessible entry.
- For quieter rooms and stable Wi-Fi for remote work, request an upper-floor or 'quiet side' room away from casino floors and event spaces. Ask about an in-room workspace and accessible outlets when booking for business or accessibility needs.
- Join rewards programs at casino hotels like Harrah’s to unlock up to $15 in combined food or slot credits and reduced room rates; frequent guests may receive same-week discounts and free self-parking. Verify current benefits at check-in, as offers can change.
