    Pros +

    • The entrance had a welcoming aesthetic and a pleasant aroma. There were also complimentary items in the fridge which was a nice surprise.
    • The staff were fantastic
    • Location and friendly staff.

    Cons -

    • Low water pressure when having a shower.
    • Slightly isolated with few comfortable communal areas
    • The bathrooms are mouldy, with extensive black mould visible between the tiles and around the bathtub. The bathtub covers are damaged, and the condition does not match what was shown in the photos. In addition, the bathroom in Room 318 is completely outdated. The window sealant also shows black mould and appears poorly maintained. The carpet has several visible stains and patches. The lift buttons on the third floor are also not working most of the time.Car parking costs £8.50 per day and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, once a parking space is used, the car cannot be moved. If the car is moved, the space is not guaranteed again, even after registering the vehicle to the room, as parking spaces are not reserved despite payment.

Was booked at another hotel and was not happy. Was able to book on short notice without being gouged on price. Very nice place and location. Actually, extended our stay a few days

    Its very clean... Very comfortable.

Car park was very limited... Not enough spaces.

Location excellent . Breakfast good selection.

Our duvet cover had two stains on it throughout our duration and despite having our room serviced every day it did not get changed. Also the shower curtain does not work well leaving a puddle of water on the bathroom floor every time we had a shower and we had to mop it up.

Breakfast was good. Location was great to be within walking distance of everything I came to newcastle for. Fact that is was right on the river was a bonus. My daughter finished her Masters at Newcastle University. I came to see her graduation ceremony.

    Rooms were a little outdated.

Excellent. Staff during breakfast is very helpful and friendly.

Maintenance of the hotel. 4 Stars hotel should be kept at a higher standard. It is clean. However, maintenance should be stepped up.

Was in good area to walk to the city. Nice by the river

Very tired, definitely needs decorating and new carpets and bathroom fittings. Very marked in all areas. Even if done in existing colours just to make it look fresh and cared for.

    It was mostly ok

There's nowhere near enough parking spaces. "Private on site parking" equates to about 30 spaces and there was a traffic cone in front of the car park entrance when I arrived. Had to park ten minutes away and walk through the rain. Other than that it's ok but if you're planning on driving there then you probably won't get a parking space.

great location next to Millenium bridge - clean rooms - very comfortable beds - staff very frindly - excellent breakfast

breakfast booking not as smooth a procedure as it could be

    9SarahPosted on: 10-21-2025

The Hotel room was comfy and had all the facilities we needed for our trip.breakfast buffet was great

The dinner menu in the restaurant offered limited options, and the fish I had was salted. Quality was poor and extremely overpriced for what was on offer.

The staff was lovely, nice walk along river but a struggle everywhere with a wheelchair, very hilly.

    The pillows was too hard.

    4DerrickPosted on: 10-2-2025

Was near the places I travelled to Newcastle for, Staff were helpful.

Keycards never worked and the keycard locks on doors were dodgy. Cleaners would let you in your room if your key didn't work without any proof that it was your room so you could technically say it was your room and get let into a random room. Our bedding had a mark on it and the bathroom could've been a tad cleaner. Also the heating in the room was non existent my partner at one point had to wear a jacket.

stayed here as one of the last available hotels for the Great North Run weekend. Great location along the quayside with a supermarket a short walk away and about 15-20 minutes walk to the main city centre.

no significant areas of improvement to comment on.

    8RumbiPosted on: 9-27-2025

Clean, comfortable great location overlooking the beautiful quayside.

They had run out of specific parking for guests when we arrived but we did manage to find something nearby fortunately. On a push, the bathrooms could be a updated, but they were very clean and OK otherwise
