The Petwood Hotel was amazing, the grounds and history of the hotel were breathtaking
The size of our room
The history and location.
Needs updating. Room was underwhelming and tired. Dinner was just above average but breakfast was disappointing. Staff would benefit from more training.
Breakfast was great. Plenty choice and hot.Hotel very historic with fabulous grounds. Very dog friendly.
Maybe pillows could do with upgrade.
Good quality and choice of hot buffet breakfast. Good choice of continental breakfast, good service and pleasant staff
Amazing location , fabulous heritage hotel. Wonderful garden and grounds!Great value room , lovely food . We will be coming back in the summer !!!
Lovely, cosy atmosphere and friendly staff - absolutely loved the dambusters themes and various aviation paintings around the property. Very quiet location and beautiful gardens. So much history, too. Great food and choice of wines. Lovely to sit by the fire after dinner and relax :-)
To be a little picky, evening staff at the bar were a little inattentive and not so welcoming, but we appreciate they may have been in training and that's just me being fussy. Other staff were very kind, helpful and nothing too much trouble.
Great location and history welcoming staff fantastic food
Workmen drilling and banging at 7.45 in the morning
Friendly and helpful staff, lovely food, breakfast was delicious, great location for visiting our son on the RAF base, nice atmosphere to relax in the evening and taught my daughter how to play Scrabble, overall was a lovely place to stay will definitely stay again.
The hotel is steeped in WW2 history lots of memorabilia to commemorate the 617 squadron. it’s a beautiful hotel it was winter when we stayed but I will certainly going back in the summer to walk in the beautiful gardens. The breakfast was delicious.
Nothing everything perfect
I loved how relaxing it was, the staff were truly wonderful. The room was really cozy and clean. My partner and I really enjoyed our stay, we are hoping to visit again in May time... thank you
I did not have breakfast as they do not have sourdough toast. We like the history and atmosphere of the place. It seemed cleaner than previous visits. Staff friendly
Every time I have stayed here, I am woken in the night with noise. I have asked to be away from the fans above the kitchen and this time was at the far end of the car park which was great, however I was still woken up by noise from the central heating, it was also very hot.
The grounds, the history
A tad dreary. I was expecting a bit nicer breakfast. Maybe a bit more 21st century or fresh homade breakfast muffins or pastries, advocado, home made healthy granola, nice fat free yogurts or a protein yoghurt. Chopped fruit salad instead of tiny, teeny amount in an individual mini jar . Five other friends loved it, the bacon and full English, but we don’t all want that. A menu with options might have been nice.
Beautiful Hotel with lots of wooden panel decore and history.Staff were friendly and welcoming. Food was good in the evening also breakfast was enjoyable. We booked an executive double room which overlooked the front carpark, room was large with a large double bed (2 singles joined together) , large wardrobe. Bathroom and room were very clean, but it all looked a bit tired though inside and couldn't sit on the sofa near the window has the bottom was falling out which was a shame. We didn't sleep too good as room really hot even with the radiators off and window open, think it was above the kitchen, if booking a room ask for one at the rear of the building overlooking the gardens. A lovely touch was a card in our room for my birthday, thank you. All in all a lovely stay and will return.
Nothing really, should of have robes and slippers in our room as in the room description but none were present.
Been before very relaxing
Booked a classic room and got best available a little on the small size
The history of the hotel and grounds, very pretty and will visit again in the spring or summer as the terrace area looks lovely. Ample free car parking.
Wifi a bit weak in places.
Came for work / surprise eventPaid to be upgraded as wanted view of gardens Wonderful upgrade for small amount more - very grateful.Peter
The weather !
Buffet breakfast was awful but weekday breakfast much better. Woken by smoke alarm early am, fire door locked and staff not very well trained.
Snooker room not been dusted in a while.
It is in a great location with an absolute abundance of nostalgia and history. Food was good, staff were very friendly.
Sadly, the standard of drinks had fallen.. the beer was cheap standard at high price ( oh where has Petwood Bomber gone ! ) and no Drambuie either. Not good enough. Looks like they have sold out to the mass production brewey as most hotels have and now sell rubbish at high prices.Snooker table also out of action.
