Pros +
- Very nice hotel very friendly and accomodating staff
- Looked lovely but arrived late and left early (Local Rat Race Competition) can’t say a lot as I never really experienced the hotel facilities tbh
- Although near a nuclear power station, it didn't feel like it once in the hotel grounds. Staff were superb and couldn't make us and, in particular, our little dog more welcome. Room was comfortable and a generous size, our evening meal we had was superb and breakfast was lovely with our dog receiving a bonus sausage!
Cons -
- TV in lougemenu choice
- Nothing to add
- Some bloke come to the room because our dog barked 3 times at 5pm, saying they had a noise compliant and had to move the guests next door to a different room. When the other guests were repeatedly slamming the door. Didn’t bother asking what had happened, just came to our room and told us.

Most of staff really friendly, helped us with our bags to room and even left a doggy treat bag in the room for our dog.

Very clean. Staff vey pleasant and accommodating. Quality although good previously, appeared better.
Not a dislike as such , but accommodation certainly more expensive than my last visit.
Nice period property. Pleasant grounds. Breakfasts are good. Nice bar. Friendly staff. Room was very clean.
Building is a bit tired in places. Could do with a freshen up. The bar is very pleasant though.
Felt very welcome. The room was nice and the beds super comfy. The food in the restaurant was lovely and always hot and freshly prepared. The staff were lovely friendly and we even chatted with the lady chef on the Friday morning. Everyone made you feel welcome.
Can't think of anything.
It is a beautiful hotel. Spotlessly clean, staff attentive and friendly. Breakfast superb. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
This is one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in very dog friendly which is important to us as we have a small dog. The food was excellent and the standard of accommodation high.
Although this didn't bother us the location in close proximity to a large nuclear facility might not be everybody's cup of tea. The location is rural and very peaceful and the hotel grounds well kept.
Staff are always nice. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was fine.
The main meal menu is not the best with very few choices I would go for. I have had the steak three times and two out of three were ok. The other was edible. Fish and chips once and would never eat again. Absolutely dire. the batter shatters when you stick a fork in and the fish content is very poor indeed. ( this has to be a frozen offering ).Apart from the breakfast, the food in terms of range in lacking and quality not great for the price. its a shame really as the hotel itself is recommendable. Just change the menu, offer choice and improve the overall quality ... even if this means increasing the price. I'd rather pay a bit extra for something thats edible.
Nice breakfast, and bar facilities staff very friendly
The picture used in advertising the hotel shows Munchester Castle, giving the impression that the hotel was actually situated within the grounds of Munchester Castle, where in fact its 5-7 miles away.. Just outside the grounds you will find Sea Scale Nuclear Plant and if you meet the traffic at the wrong time as we did it can make a long journey even longer.. Apart from this the facilities and staff were very good.
Brilliant hotel, fantastic staff who were so helpful. Very comfortable rooms and evening meal and breakfast were superb.
It's one of those places that if you were being selfish you wouldn't want to tell too many people about incase they get that busy you can't book in next time you want to go So between you and me the staff were fantastic the food was outstanding everything perfect and I don't say that about most hotels that we visit Definitely would go back and experience that lake District / Cumbrian hospitality again
The fact we had to leave
Breakfast was great! Dining area was ready when we went down in the morning and came quickly after ordering.
Was on the top floor in the attic which was a little bit dated and could do with an upgrade.
Second time staying at Sella Park and both times I couldn’t fault it. The rooms are always pristine and the staff are friendly and helpful! Highly recommend
By far the best hotel I have stayed at, it was beyond my expectations. The building itself is elegant whilst keeping the original features and charm. The rooms were like apartments huge, the front of house staff and chef went above and beyond even gave our pooch a sausage for breakfast and lots of fuss. The food on the evening and breakfast was plenty, delicious and lots of choice.Loved this place and will definitely be back again.
Absolutely Nothing
Everything! Loved this place! The Hotel's beautiful and classy, and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more professional. Gorgeous rooms, beautifully done. If they'll have me I intend to come back!!! I want to give a personal thank you to John, and an exceptional thank you to the amazing Michelle. I had an issue which she sorted out professionally, without any fuss, and she went above and beyond, just dealt with it. Thank you Michelle, you're a class act!....Oh, the next time can I stay in the Main House?....Only cos I'm nosy!!!
Nothing, excellent!
Staff are friendly and helpful and rooms have been the cleanest I’ve stayed in for a while. Will definitely be staying again whilst visiting for work and recommending to family and fellow colleagues
The breakfast was great, staff friendly location was great and the room amazing.
There was nothing we didn’t like.
The room was lovely and a super comfy bed. The staff couldn't do enough to help. The food was plentiful and very good. We went there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and the chef made us some lovely heart shaped short bread, this was a lovey touch and much appreciated.
