Pros +
- Great friendly staff. The entire property is very clean. My room was very spacious.
- Very large room with 4 poster bed. Great place to start the coast to coast cycle ride
- The owner and all the staff were first class, nothing was too much trouble. Facilities were ideal, comfortable lounge bar and dining with good menu.
Cons -
- Good room, but the access via the stairs was awkward.
- That we had to leave
- Arranged a late checkout when I checked in. Apparently whoever checked me in didn’t make a note of it. This then becomes my problem the following day when told I don’t have a late checkout and I need to vacate. It was only an hour extra I’d arranged. . Said I hadn’t even had a shower yet and apparently ‘that’s not good enough’….And I’m giving them attitude. Wouldn’t stay again. Manager is a nightmare. Couldn’t grasp the concept that if the staff member who checked me in hasn’t made a note of it, that’s not my fault. Apparently it’s all my fault. If they had simply said they are sorry but they don’t have a note of it and they need the room, and could I vacate as soon as possible, NO PROBLEM!! But instead all I got was attitude.

Stayed before. Has a good visit last time. Food is good and room is clean.

Rooms comfortable, breakfast OK (not a fan of tinned tomatoes though)
The entrance is very narrow - but there is a wider easier entrance 50 yards along the road! Why not just change the signs over? I won’t go back because the hotel was inflexible about a last minute change of plans - the hotel gained £130 and lost £560 from next year’s booking.
Warm and inviting on a very cold day. Lovely lady at check in who also helped us with a car problem the next day. The food was lovely and the room spacious. We had a lovely night here.
Room was OK.
Dining facility's, not good eating a steak sat on a settee with ya chin on the table!!
Thank you everyone at Moresby Hall. We enjoyed a weekend stay at the end of November and could not have been made more welcome. We loved everything about our visit. We chose the location because it was private and rural. The hotel was absolutely fascinating, the staff were all friendly and professional at all times. We enjoyed the warm welcome, open fire, cosy bar area, delicious food, fabulous room and stunning location to the maximum.
Beautiful house. Lovely staff. Lovely food and very comfortable room.
Warm welcome, comfortable spacious room. Comfortable bed, had a good night sleep. Excellent meal, also good breakfast. Good location and value for the money
This hotel was excellent! Have already recommended to friends. It's a beautiful place with wonderful staff. The breakfast was excellent! Loved the stone spiral staircase which led up to our room. The bedroom was lovely with old wooden beams. We really enjoyed our stay and wish we could have stayed another night! Beautiful gardens too. Thank you!
A stunning place to stay fantastic bedroom and bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and good value for the money. Would definitely say again and recommend to family and friends.
Lovely one night stay, staff friendly, informative and chatty. Room and food great. Lovely coast walk into the town. enjoyed a great one night stay.
The hotel is very unique. From outside it looks very outdated but inside is the exact opposite. It is being refurbished but most of it is complete. The communal areas have lovely furnishings with unusual decor. The rooms are old but have clean furnishings. The layout is quirky, stone staircases etc
The entrance is very tight but apparently you can use the deliveries entrance which has more room.
Room and shower were great as was the breakfast
Hotel not very well signposted
No happy
The decor is dated, rooms in desperate need of upgrade, hot water took forever to get to shower, shower was dirty hair on walls. With some investment this could be a gold mine but looks like the last refurb was in 1980! The room cost £170.00 and the “other bed” just wasn’t that the covers and pillows were just thrown on the floor in the emergency exit route for the room. Breakfast I had a sausage and mushroom sandwich and the sausage just wasn’t up to much my daughter didn’t finish hers. It’s a shame the staff were attentive, polite but the cleanliness was a big issue for me.
Staff and management were super friendly and helpful. It’s a beautiful building and location. Breakfast was great - was even provided some tasty treats for our dog. Couldn’t ask for more - would definitely stay again. Highly recommend.
Beautiful location and rooms Sunday lunch was lovely Staff very helpful
Found rooms hard to lock until I got used to it
