I have used the hotel for over 40 years so I must be satisfied, butdidn't like decor, lighting and heating in bar, whole area needs updating and more welcoming.Where did the piano go Liked it better when it had a DLI theme but I suppose I'm old and admired my local regiment. Place clean and tidy but may be time to redecorate public areas

The location is great.

The check in staff were unpleasant. The car park is very expensive. Breakfast buffet is very average. Bathroom was dirty.

Warm friendly greeting and an upgrade to meet our early arrival. Spacious room with good facilities and perfectly place for an easy stroll into town. The bar area was great and comfortable seating. Parking on site a real bonus for a city hotel. Would definitely stay again.

The quilt was very thin so on a cold night it was a bit inadequate we had to ramp up room heating. There was black mould in corners and under bath taps in the bathroom Needs some mould spray cleaning easily resolved with a bit of care.

Excellent stay again , perfect location , rooms amazing - thanks for the upgrade and of course the reception staff always top class

Loved the bed so comfy!

Only had a very thin duvet - not really a duvet but a quilt. Had to request another duvet/blanket. Definitely would have really cold I’d we’d only had the thin cover on the bed.

Front desk staff really friendly and professional. The room was fantastic. Short walk to Durham city. Overall excellent

Parking fees hiked the costs. Price slightly reduced by staying at the property but still £11.00 per night. The room being serviced only on third day was disappointing, but extra supplies of coffee etc were readily available at front desk

Car parking quite expensive. King size bed actually 2 single mattresses zipped together and an oversize mattress topper made the bed uneven. I ended up remaking the bed myself.

Hotel was lovely, staff were all really friendly and very helpful. Food was delicious. All in all a great hotel and would definitely stay again.

Clean bed was very comfortable.. right in the middle of the centre bars and restaurants etc

The communal areas are abit tired.

Excellent Receptionist meant we could check in early and make the most of the day.

Nit picking really, but a slightly wider bed would be nice. But probably not feasible in the family room we were in.
