Nice hotel with good food and great location. Third time here.
Nice staff and comfortable room
Beautiful location and clean room
Parking was a little tricky but we managed
Beautiful location Lovely staff Nice food
The room was supposedly a superior and was drab and dirty The bathroom had hair on the floor, grime on the ledges and a previous residents toe separator was found by the bed. The quality of the mattresses was poor - and the money we were charged was way over what it was worth. We complained because when we arrived the room I booked was not dog compatible and so I was charged an extra £40 on arrival. I had no choice but to accept this. In the morning we put our complaints to the manager who then refunded £40. However this only suggests that the cleanliness was acceptable for the standard room price! To have ensured our return, positive reviews and enthusiasm to spread a positive word about your hotel, we would have expected you to have made a significant refund that proved your own dissatisfaction with our experience. Instead you have indicated that for a standard room, we should expect a lack of cleanliness and care. This was a disappointing end to our stay. It is worth thinking about a customer's reasons for staying and how this care impacts their experience. In our case, we came away for a night to get some space after receiving some awful news. The very least we needed was a clean room and a double bed. In the end we had to put mattresses on the floor to be together and shower in a dirty bathroom. This treatment was not what we needed . Had you have refused us significantly and added a free breakfast, the experience could have been rectified and we would have left knowing you were as horrified as we were and that the experience was in no way typical of the service you offer.
The room was lovely and clean. The location was great for access and walking into the countryside. The bar was perfect for watching the sun set.
Thick 'winter' duvets were a little unusual in August.
The hotel is in a lovely riverside location within walking distance of the town. Our superior room was large and comfortable. The staff were very cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was excellent.
The stairs were a bit of a trial with suitcases and also after we'd walked 12 miles of the beautiful Suffolk Wool Towns trail each day! Our room 28 could be noisy with the window open when warm as it overlooked a boiler room. The fire alarm going off at 3am in the morning was also something we could have done without!!
Breakfast was fine and the waitress kindly made me a decaf coffee
My room was OK, a little tired and extremly hot (no aircon), the hotel woudld benefit from a freshen up, I think the rooms are too expensive for what you getMy meal in the evening was average (Burger) smothered in a white/garlic? sauce, all a bit odd
Location Hotel was amazing
Dirty windows. Grubby around the door on the room
The view from our bedroom overlooking the meadows.
We had a room in the annex which was below the standard we would expect. The staff dealt with the situation very well and we really enjoyed the stay.
The restaurant in the evening was very good. An excellent range of choices on the menu, good quality and very good service.
Our bedroom was tiny. The website advertises standard rooms and shows images of what to expect. The room we were given was half the size. Very disappointing.
My room. The grounds. Easy check in and check out. The location.
No help with luggage which is tough without a lift. Accessible rooms aren't very accessible. No USB ports in rooms. The continental breakfast wasn't great.
Disappointing
Beautiful looking hotel and downstairs was nice as were the staff but rooms were not the cleanest. Bed & pillows rock hard with thin flimsy duvet.
The room was lovely
The breakfast left a lot to be desired. Not enough staff and they were doing the best they could. But all good ran out. Instead of cooking eggs to order, have them ready
The view from the roomBreakfast
Thought we booked a superior room but seemed like a standard one?Bathroom needed a refreshNo waters in the room
Clean, tidy and happy staff.
All was good.
Its near to the town and central
The room had damp on walls and couldnt get any food after 8.45 and dirty glasses were left on the bar
Good location and a nice Hotel
Breakfast wasn't included in my booking. A bit expensive for what it was. Tiny tea and coffee cups to serve yourself. Not much choice for the continental. Main breakfast area staff member could have been more friendly and trusting that I was going to pay for my breakfast.Room in a different building to the hotel.
Bed was good. Breakfast was good. Great location.
Room very dated.
