    • Location is great. Easy to access good communication Plenty of tea/coffeeClean
    • Disappointed

    Cons -

    • Slight problem with heating in the room which eventually got sorted. But the bathroom was freezing . Too uncomfortably cold .
    • It’s an old building so very chilly in the room especially bathroom I would take warm comfy clothes
    • The pub sign squeaked all night above the room window. There was no heating in the room , radiator on 5 and no heat from it so was freezing with temp outside at 0.

    Great location.

Separate bathroom. One bedside light not working.

    3NigelPosted on: 12-27-2025

It was ok, old and cold.

A bright green fire exit light permanently on in our bedroom next to the bed - awful! It kept us awake all night. Ridiculously bright! Not necessary.

It was in Long Melford, where I needed to be.

Rude and unhelpful check in, dirty / dusty room, no heating, it was freezing in the night, radiators didn't work or were not turned on upstairs, uncomfortable mattress, really noisy til one on the morning , felt quite vulnerable and unsafe.

Staff were very helpful and pleasant. My stay was very brief and I was not really expecting too much for the price I paid for my room. It was warm and comfortable.

Bathroom was very draughty but it’s an old building and it was only for one night.

2nd time we have stayed here and wont be the last. Very good value for money, friendly staff , beautiful village, bonus of disco and kareoke on a friday night. Friendly people.

    6KarenPosted on: 11-30-2025

Beds were clean although a little small.Bathroom although separate from the room was immaculate, although taps only dispensed for the shower not the bath??Staff friendly on arrival and early check in

Twin room was disappointing with a child's safety rail on one which had a raw edge. They also creaked a lot.Traffic noise really quite loud through the old and somewhat worn sash windows.Emergency lighting lit up the whole room making it difficult to sleep - should be far more discreet in such a small room.

    7SarahPosted on: 11-8-2025

    In the high street

Very dated rooms. Bad lighting, uncomfortable bed and the window didn’t open. TV didn’t work.

    8HilaryPosted on: 10-27-2025

Very good food ,promptly cooked ,comfy & cosy superior double room , twin room ok; The Manager, Tyler, was superb.. went out of his way to help & sorted out any issues straight way.

Heating not on in twin room ; Manager found a portable heater promptly. shower in twin room a little intermittent, but adequate.

    8AdrianPosted on: 10-26-2025

Good room and facilities the host Tyler was amazing. Catered for our needs. He was rushed off his feet as he was the only one working yet he still managed very well. We had a meal which was absolutely lovely and great value for money. The breakfast was lovely too.

The accommodation needs updating. The plumbing was noisy.

    breakfast only

This " hotel " if you can call it that, is the worst hotel experience we have had in our 51 years of marraige and we had booked it for 6 nights. The room was number 3 and is one of the best in the hotel ( according to the owner ). Firstly there was only 1 key so we couldn't go out seperatly, It was dirty, the toilet didn't flush properly, we had to use the rubbish bin filled with water from the broken shower ( wall fitting ) to clean and flush. The main light shade was full of dead flies, after looking for the remote control for the television even behind the radiator in the bedroom, there we found years of dirt and dust including a sock from a previous guest ( it was white )but now grey with dust and cobwebs. The owner said he would have it cleaned/vacumed and sorted by the time we got back, in the evening nothing had been done, The kettle lid was broken, the towels had holes in them. Photo proof of everything available .The owner was rude and said everything worked properly and I didn't know what I was talking about, the only good thing was the breakfast, but we only had one because we found another hotel and moved out after the first night, 560 pounds lost, no refund. I CANNOT recomend this hotel to anyone.

    Not staying in the pub...

We were at the front of the pub.We were not told the music would be going 11.30 at night and very loud.friday and Saturday.

    6AlisonPosted on: 9-25-2025

    Staff were friendly

The mattress needs replacing could not sleep as the springs stuck into me. The room needs a deep clean, cobwebs in the fireplace. Window ledges required cleaning. Carpet had a burn mark from an iron and a light bulb had gone.

    5GrahamPosted on: 9-22-2025

    Passable

Very dated furnishings and fittings. No hot water. Bulky hard pillows. No one had checked whether there were tea bags or not

    10ClairePosted on: 9-21-2025

Traditional country pub/b&b. Nice, clean room with everything you need. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly, attentive staff. Beautiful location
