Pros +
- I was impressed with the price. On our first night the bathroom light failed. It was fixed very quickly whilst we were out and about.
- Staff were very welcoming and location was very good
- Staff excellent and very clean
Cons -
- Fixtures and fittings and furniture could do with improvement. A good general update is needed as there was mold in the windows, stains on the settee. The bath seal needs replacing and the floor covering in the bathroom was not sealed down and was a bit bouncy so suspect water had got underneath at some point. The wooden furniture would benefit from an upgrade. The duvet cover was extensively torn, I would think laundry could easily repair. Laundry otherwise was very clean. The structure of the rooms is in need of soundproofing as sleeping wasn't easy if like us you had noisy and heavy footed neighbours.
- Deco dated and furniture looking tired and others have said the same thing in these reviews
- This is the noisiest hotel I have ever slept in. I had to stop due to the snow but even the reduced traffic on the road below woke me multiple times. I was convinced a window must be open.

Great stay, rooms a little tired but Very Clean and Comfortable.
Wasn’t far from Alton Towers.
The room needed some maintenance, damp on the ceiling and bathroom floor was lifting.
The room was suitable for our needs and the restaurant attached was perfect after a long day out to just get back and not have to go out again for dinner. Could just walk downstairs, order and relax.
The pull out bed for the kids was very uncomfortable.
We were able to check-in early and our bicycles were kept overnight in a safe, secure location. Good food, reasonably priced. Accommodating staff that worked hard to please us
Every single member of staff was helpful and friendly
Unfortunately the rooms we had looked so tired and dated. The curtain was hanging off, flooring in the bathroom was coming away, the toilet roll holder had fallen off, there was mould on the bathroom ceiling (which could easily be painted over to at least look better) the wall lights were wonky and damaged, it was just generally in desperate need of redecorating. Unfortunately the restaurant felt very grubby and dated too.
Check in all good, staff cheerful and helpful.
Basically the place needs a full refurbishment, i think only basic maintenance done since it was built.A good place for workers who need a pint, food and a bed, tesco 2 min and Macs 30 sec walk. For me its a bed to visit family. Perhaps its me!
Every staff member we encountered was so lovely and helpful and very lovely with our son. The breakfast was amazing and high quality. The staff were so helpful with oat milk and advice about dairy free alternatives
The hotel facilities itself were comfortable, Great mattress and nice hot shower with good pressure . But the facilities were rather tired, mold on the curtains etc and outdated bathroom suite. Overall okay for the money. The staff and breakfast compensated lots
The location was great for visiting potteries in Stoke-on-Trent.The staff were really helpful and polite - especially in the restaurant.
The rooms are very tired and the windows need replacing.
We had a lovely stay at the hotel last night. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast this morning was really good. Overall, it was very good value for money and we would definitely be happy to stay here again.
Our room was not very quiet at night due to the traffic, as the hotel is quite close to the main road.
Great location, basic but does what it says on the tin. Staff very friendly and helpful
Could do with updating
Room was clean, as was en=suite. It's quiet, comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast has improved immeasurably over the past year and staff are friendly and knowledgeable
I booked a double room because I like the huge beds. I got 2 x single beds this time. I'm not aware of how to make this choice when booking on Booking.com
Location, price, comfortable rooms
Ideal for stop over when visiting Alton Towers. Good food in the restaurant- American diner style.
Rooms were a bit tired.
Location was ideal for what we were looking for - a trip to Alton Towers & also to Birmingham. Staff were helpful & pleasant.
On the Thursday night we chose to eat in the restaurant. The food was great, but the bar was very rowdy. There was no separation wall between restaurant & bar. We were dining with young kids & we are sorry to report that there was quite a bit of swearing & bad language being used. This was to the point where our daughter was feeling quite scared & frightened by it. We spoke to a member of the waiting staff about it. It died down for 5 minutes, but then returned to the same volume & velocity as before.
They have a decent restaurant. Beds are comfy.
The bathroom was not very clean.
Clean and comfortable
Needs a little bit of maintenance. Bathroom door would not shut easily
In great location
Went out and door was locked wouldn't open and we had to wait 20 mins or so for someone to let us in we rang buzzer at side of door we put code in for door wouldn't work tho was my only concern everything else was spot on lovely hotel
