nothing was very dirty
no light in the room my kids couldn’t sleep am not happy with it
Central location in Burslem. Quiet. Comfortable beds. Clean. Secure.
Difficult to locate the bell at the front door at night time as same colour as door frame. (Reception 24hrs but need to ring bell for entry). Some light bulbs but working. Toilet cistern appeared to be leaking slowly so a lot of water on the bathroom floor in the morning.
Nothing, it was awful. Rooms were dirty, smashed windows in room, tv didn’t work. Dirty towel in cupboard, urine still in toilet. Shower didn’t work & was broken.
Everything about the stay it was awful. Rooms were dirty, smashed windows in room, tv didn’t work. Dirty towel in cupboard, urine still in toilet. Shower didn’t work & was broken.
Wasn’t really much to like , old run down dirty , wires hanging out the wall in our room and no door on bathroom
Was dirty dilapidated
Deffently not for families at all.
The hotel has falling down and ripped wall paper So i found out after its a place for homeless people, which obviously why it is in such a bad state and not looked after.Had to leave key at reception if went outside As a whole is was really run down
Very comfortable bed..bedroom patio doors
The kettle didn't work..
They had a coffee and tea table In the room
It wasn’t cleaned properly. There was someone else’s hair in the duvet. The floors were filthy and the carpet was horrendous. The bathroom wasn’t clean and neither was the wardrobe. Overall very disgusting and disappointing
Nothing to like there
, I did a booking through booking.com and the hotel said not any rooms available, the receptionist very rude, and they said are not able to cancel or refund and I had to do a claim through booking.com
The lobby looked nice
The place was a disgusting mess, dirty, broken window, no curtains on half the windows. Noisy all night, people knocking on the door.
Nothing whatsoever - the place shouldn’t even be operating.
Everything - I could write a book about it. Wallpaper hanging off walls; cigarette holes on the bed; light sockets broken; no remote for tv; plasters stuck on bathroom wall; more or less every fitting broken; no wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes; plug sockets not working; ironing board without a cover; An absolute disgrace!
Awful
There was traces of heroin and weed in the room they gave me the towels wasn’t clean and the bedding was awful
There was absolutely nothing I like about the dirty place ,it was suppose to be better than my home but turned out to be a Bush away from home
I have to say it's the worst hotel in UK .The staffs were not the problem cos they were professional but the hotel is a mess interms of facilities. The nice pictures online are fake and misleading. I paid for a Triple room with 1 double bed and a single bed yet there was no wardrobe to put away my clothes, there was no chairs to even sit down, just one old dirty table .I asked for my bedding to be changed after 3 nights I was told it wil be changed on the 4th day JESUS CHRIST never seen that before, i had to sleep on the same bedding for 3nights,everywhere smelly.I had to check out before my last night ,.It was a nightmare and I will never recommend such place to anyone. THE WORST HOTEL IN UK
Absolutely nothing
Where do I begin… We left the property 10 minutes after arriving due to how awful it was. It looked nothing like it was advertised online. On arrive door was locked and looked abandoned. Had to ring up to access the property. Everytime you leave the building, keys had to be left at reception, meaning anyone could access the room whilst personal belongings were inside. Multiple smashed/boarded up windows. One right outside one of our rooms. Ripped wallpaper throughout rooms and building. Car park at property looked very unsafe to leave a vehicle there overnight. Room advertised an outdoor space. This was not provided. Both rooms smelt of cigarettes, which was very unpleasant for us none smokers. One room had a sock over the smoke alarm, smoke damage to the ceiling and a safety window was missing. Chairs provided in the rooms had multiple stains on them and right outside the property there was multiple drunk and disorderly people. We left immediately due to false advertising, multiple inconveniences and overall feeling very uncomfortable and unsafe in the building. It felt like multiple crimes had be committed throughout this property.
Comfy bed a three pillows. Once I got the radiator working then the room was warm.
I found the sign saying you must hand your keys in when you leave the hotel for a sustained period of time very strange but followed the rules as suggested. Once into my room I find the floor was not clean at all. It was thought he room hadn’t been used for a while. Went and used the loo to find the toilet didn’t flush properly. It was till later I discovered the leaver was fully in the basin so you had to push it in then flush. The shower head had little to no pressure so barely got any water running from it. Lastly there was no remote control for the to so had to keep getting up to change the channel or turn the volume upI’m glad I didn’t pay too much money for the room or had stayed more than one night as otherwise or I’d have complained. A very old and run down hotel which is in much need of some TLC.
The room layout
The bathroom was not clean and some towels were dirty too! Pics of bath can be forwarded on.
Awful
Dirty rooms, dirty bed linen, disgusting furniture, whole place in a state of disrepair, wallpaper hanging off, totally misrepresented on website. No food or other facilities.
We are fond of the live music venues nearby (especially Grumpys bar and the old post office) and the George is well situated. The hotel has so much historical grandeur which is beautiful when you look past the need for TLC.
It's such a shame that the period decor is looking tired and I do wish more people would give this hotel a chance. More staff and some redecoration may then be able to be done. At the moment, there's only 1 or 2 guest services/ reception staff expected to run everything during the shift. They do however put their best into it and their love of the old place shows.I have read many poor reviews by people who really can't see past the surface which is a real pity.
