    Pros +

    • Breakfast was delivered to your door with fresh fruit and daily baked bread. A fresh croissant every day and coffee made to your specifications (they asked me over whatsapp in advance what I preferred and what time I wanted it delivered between 8 and 10). The view was outstanding, and they gave me a free upgrade to a larger suite without my asking. Right near the city center (an easy ten minute walk). Pictures are the view from my room. Hard to beat this for the price.
    • Great location. Happy hour on roof terrace with drinks and snacks was magical as the lights came on and the bells rang from the churches. We were given a bottle of wine from their winery when we left.
    • Beautiful views, quiet and great location. Plus comfortable bed!

    Cons -

    • There was nothing not to like. Hell, they even gave me a free bottle of wine from their own vineyard when I checked out! I suppose my one complaint (if you can call it that) was the lift requires a lot of patience. Might be the slowest lift I've ever been on, and it fits 1 person with luggage. Even so, not really a problem for me. Might be for non-solo travelers.
    • No negative comments!
    • No curtain in the second bedroom. After 7pm, there is no one at reception.

We really enjoyed our stay at I Merli di Ada. The hotel is located inside a beautifully renovated historic building, which gave our visit an authentic Siena atmosphere. At the same time, everything felt modern, stylish, and comfortable. The beds were very cozy, and our room was spotless. There’s a small elevator that my daughter called “the sad elevator” because it was quite slow getting us up to the third floor, but that just added to the charm and made us laugh. The girl at the reception was incredibly kind and helpful, and the hotel offers a valet parking service that was actually cheaper than self-parking.Overall, a lovely place to stay - full of character and warm hospitality.

The place is absolutely amazing, located in the heart of the historic city, less than 5 mins to central plaza, we got the nice surprise of being upgraded to a suite which was amazing, clean and comfortable beds, the communication with the staff was always great, they were very helpful and by the end the gave us a farewell gift… just the cherry on top!! I recommend this place 200% btw, taking booking the rooftop for the aperitif is a must, great view

Very charming hotel. Great location, quiet but close to the action. Staff was very helpful.

    Well located

One of the staff was very rude. We left early and no one was at the desk. We actually only have seen Reseptionist once at the check in. One hour after we left I have received a message that we forgot to pay 8 euros city tax. I mentioned that we were not aware of it and no one was at the desk in a morning. This was followed by few accusative texts as I should read my contract and so on. I paid and thought it was over with , to find out next day she reported to booking . Com that we left without paying so I had to send them a proof ext. not what I want to do on the vacation. It’s an unusual experience in traveling in Italy!

Brilliant location, lovely staff. Clean and feels like an authentic Tuscan stay

No fridge in room. Noisy, but ear plugs were provided.

Staff was exceptional in every regard. Apartment was beautiful and well appointed. We had every thing we needed, and more. The breakfast was over the top and too much food, in fact.

I can’t think of a thing they need to improve. Biggest concern was driving into Siena ZTL, but they covered that exceptionally well and we had no problems.

The historic features were stunning and the views were fabulous. The bed was comfortable and the climate control system was excellent. What’s not to love about Siena?

The listing should have much clearer that while the facility had an elevator … there were two more flights of stairs to navigate to our room. As senior citizens, it was an issue for us. The young man who checked us in kindly assisted with our luggage but there was no such help when we checked out. The “leave nothing to the imagination” glass bathroom enclosure was a bit of a surprise.

Very friendly check-in and very punctual and professional car service. We could relax the moment we stepped in the hotel. The room was STUNNING and the views are breathtaking. So romantic- especially for our honeymoon!

    10YingPosted on: 7-9-2025

Love the view from the window. I could see who Siena from our rooms. The bed was comfy. The breakfast provided were very optional and had good quality. The hotel has lift, OMG, yes.

We loved our stay. Great place. Lots of character. Well located.

No on site breakfast (served in the rooms). But this was only a minor inconvenience. We went to a nice local coffee shop.

Fabulous location. - 5 minutes to Il Campo and restaurants everywhere. Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were clean. Simple and comfortable. Driving is difficult. Do use their car park service. They bring breakfast to your room each morning

Coffee could have been better - larger portions for American tastes and hotter.

    10MerlePosted on: 6-15-2025

Loved the location, view and staff. Amazing rooftop wine and small caricature plate.

A/C was a blessing but not quite cool enough for a wimpy American. ?. Still great!

    9VasquezPosted on: 6-12-2025

I also loved the fact that the hotel has a roof top where they served appetizers and wine in the evening. The views of Siena from there are breathtaking!
