Pros +
- Fabulous accommodations with marvelous & helpful staff. Our room was modern & well appointed including a large tub in the bedroom. We were greatly surprised at the value. This property felt like a 5-star boutique hotel & was staffed accordingly. Kudos!
- The location is very good, the restaurant’s food is also very delicious and the staff’s English is very good. It’s a good decision to stay here.
- This charming stay was a wonderful home away from home on our trip to the Loire Valley. I loved starting each day with their delicious breakfast, then walking through the beautiful property and charming village. The rooms were quiet and comfortable. We would definitely stay here again!
Cons -
- Our only regret was that we could not stay longer. We enjoyed our stay here immensely and would highly recommend this charming hotel! Be sure and tour the Chateau Chenonceau while you are here. Mother and I truly enjoyed the Chateau and their employees!
- There’s no elevator if you have a big luggage, it’ll be a little inconvenient.
- I regret calling to make a reservation without knowing there were two restaurants. We were looking for a simple dinner, but they placed us in the expensive restaurant without explanation. The restaurant was very nice, but I would have preferred they offered us a choice and let us select what we wanted.

The service and the ambience

Loved this hotel! Location is beautiful. Rooms are comfortable and well designed with the charm of vintage buildings. Staff was wonderful! Everyone very friendly and helpful. We had lovely breakfasts every morning at a well laid out buffet.
This hotel is a 5 star. It started with the staff when checking in until the day we left. They were so pleasant and cheerful. The room was amazing, with it's adjacent sitting room and direct access to the garden out the backdoor. The beds were extremely comfortable, the towels big and fluffy. The food was delicious and the proximity to everything was an easy walk. I would definitely stay there again
Charm, architecture, location. Spacious rooms and large bathrooms.
No enough draws/shelves for clothes
Beautiful ambience, great food and excellent service.
Some of the spa facilities were out of order
Nothing went well.
We booked a family suite for four people at this property for three nights (July 12–15, 2025), traveling from Beynac to Chenonceaux by car. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing from the outset. The first issue arose when we used the address provided in the hotel’s confirmation email—it led us to a location 20 minutes away from the actual property. Upon finally arriving, we were shocked by the condition of the room. It was extremely small—barely large enough for three people—and far from what was represented in the photos. The room was also very dirty, and the air conditioning was not functioning. However, the most serious and alarming issue was how we were treated by the hotel staff and the complete disregard for guest safety. On the first night, we parked our car on-site and went to bed early to prepare for a prepaid hot air balloon ride scheduled the next morning. We were required to meet the team at 5:15 AM, 20 minutes away, so we woke our children up at 4 AM to get ready. But when we attempted to leave, we discovered that every exit—every door and gate—was locked. We were effectively imprisoned on the property with no way out.I urgently searched for any staff member to assist, but no one was available. In a panic, I called the front desk. After multiple rings, someone finally answered—clearly just woken up. I explained our situation and the risk of missing our balloon ride. Instead of helping, he began yelling at me for not informing the staff the night before about our early departure. In over 30 years of travel, I have never encountered a hotel that required such notice just to exit the premises. When I asked, “What if this had been a medical emergency? What if I’d had a heart attack—how would I get to a hospital if all the exits are locked?”—he hung up on me.This experience was not only unprofessional and unacceptable, but it also raised serious concerns about guest safety. I would strongly caution others before considering a stay at
Great hotel with friendly, helpful staff.
Our room wars a little dark and tucked away in a courtyard.
Location perfect. Private parking. Loved the animals. Breakfast in room. Quiet pool. Air conditioning Dinner in restaurant delicious. Room had private garden
Perhaps a little more light for bathroom vanity.
Location near chateau.
Kind of a funky setup. Not much to the town.
I stayed in this hotel with six friends. All of our rooms were different, as the property is comprised of five different buildings, each with their own set of one-of-a-kind rooms. Mine had a fireplace and expansive sitting area, with a big and modern bathroom. There was also a lovely courtyard to enjoy a bottle of wine before dinner. We ate at the restaurant which used to be a Michelin star rating and it was very good. They have room service as well. And the best thing? It was literally across the street of Chenonceau Castle. There was also a nice pool, hot tub, and sauna that were tucked away in a nice private area.
No complaints!
Very old world France. Wonderful location. Lounge areas were great. Very attentive staff. Beds amazing and extremely comfortable. Plenty of space and very charming.
Not their fault but be careful if you have mobility issues. Lots of stairs, uneven areas due to age (in a good way; age is mature and real not dated) of buildings. Very helpful staff about getting my elderly mother a better suited room but we should have absolutely requested a ground floor room. Again, not a bad thing about the property just something to be aware of.
The friendly and helpful atmosphere. Very professional staff
The bedroom was directly on the road and therefore windows had to remain closed.
Comfortable, clean, and great staff!
Limited pool hours (closed at 7:30 pm) so we weren’t able to swim.
The room we stayed in was spacious and very clean, with comfortable pillows, mattress, and bedding. It actually had two en-suite bathrooms - one with a shower and the other with a bathtub! The room temperature was comfortable with the windows open in May ( on warm days). It is within walking distance to Château Chenonceaux and the train stop. It is also easy to get to other chateaux and historical sites in the Loire Valley. The hotel’s restaurant is fantastic and we chose to eat on site 2 out of 3 evenings. When we return to the area, we will book with this hotel again!
We really didn’t have any complaints about the rooms, location, or hotel overall.
Clean, comfy bed and helpful staffs. Dinner was so so good
It is a lovely hotel with an excellent staff, facilities and breakfast. We also enjoyed our dinner at the hotel. It was the nicest place we stayed during our 30 day vacation in France.
Very close to the train station and the Chateau. The staff there is very kind and warmhearted. We would leave very early in the morning, which would make us miss the breakfast that is already paid. After we told this situation to the staff of the hotel, they prepared a basket full of snacks, fruit and drinks for us to take away in the morning.
