There¿s a black ring around all of those toilet seats when you lift them up the manager is a crook. I never stay there again just keeping it real. They don¿t try to compromise. You wanna mess up your rooms either

Top Tips
- Book 3 to 6 months before arrival for peak equestrian season (January to April), as local rooms often sell out and rates can surge 25 to 40 percent. Many top chains release early-bird rates for these months, so set a calendar reminder when major equestrian events are announced and check loyalty program notifications for discounts.
- Consider hotels in West Palm Beach or Royal Palm Beach for wider selection and lower rates. Major chains like Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt have properties in these areas, giving access to reward nights and member perks within a 15 to 30 minute drive east or 10 to 20 minutes north of Wellington.
- Prebook ground transport or rent a car from Palm Beach International Airport (PBI), 20 to 30 minutes (12 to 18 miles) from central Wellington, as ride-share wait times and surge pricing increase on weekend event days. Ask your hotel if they offer complimentary scheduled airport shuttle transfers, as several full-service hotels operate pickups during event weekends.
- Prioritize hotels within 2 to 6 miles of the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC) to reduce event-day transit. Leading chains often provide express check-in or digital key services for rewards members, which can help limit additional 20 to 40 minute check-in and parking queues on show mornings.
- Confirm parking and shuttle details with your hotel before booking, as many Wellington properties have limited onsite parking or specific showground shuttle partnerships. If accessible parking is needed, verify space availability in writing and request a list of fees and shuttle hours to avoid surprise daily charges.
- If attending a single-day event, plan an extra 20 to 45 minutes each way for commute time and carry small bills ($15 to $40 USD) for venue parking, concessions, or unofficial shuttles since card acceptance can be limited. Use your hotel front desk to prepare small bills or for ATM access.
- Travelers attending with horses should ask hotels early about stable and horse logistics, including trailer parking, check-in times, and local livery contacts, as properties coordinating with PBIEC or IPC fill up first. Some major chains partner with local showgrounds for bundled guest and stable arrangements; request help via hotel concierge.
- Factor in 11 to 13 percent local taxes, as Wellington adds a 6 percent state hotel tax and 5 to 7 percent county fees, increasing a $200 stay by $15 to $40 USD per night. Review your booking confirmation for all applied tax and fee line items, as some loyalty rates may already bundle these charges.
- Book hotels advertising 50 to 100 Mbps free Wi-Fi, a standard in Wellington's upscale hotels, and ask for rooms on upper or corner floors to minimize equestrian event noise for remote work. Many new builds by major chains prioritize workspace-friendly layouts for quieter stays.
- Request ADA-compliant rooms 1 to 2 weeks in advance for step-free access, available in 80 to 90 percent of Wellington hotels, to accommodate mobility needs during peak seasons. Contact the hotel directly to confirm step-free access from entrance to all amenities, as layouts may vary in older properties.
- Verify if 'breakfast included' means hot or cold options, as budget hotels often provide only pastries and coffee, while others like Fairfield Inn serve a full breakfast. Travelers with dietary needs should review menus or request ingredient lists in advance, as major brands can supply allergen info on request.
- Request rooms facing east or north to avoid afternoon sun, since west-facing rooms can exceed 84°F indoors by 3 PM in summer (June to September) and may increase AC use by 30 to 40 percent. Use mobile check-in or pre-arrival messages in chain-brand apps to request specific room orientation.
- Use local ATMs in Town Center to avoid $5 or higher dynamic currency conversion (DCC) fees, as international cards can incur 3 to 7 percent markups at hotel kiosks. Some hotel chains have fee-free ATM partners or offer cash advances to loyalty tier guests.
- Choose Tru by Hilton or Homewood Suites for reliable step-free access, with 80 percent of rooms at Tru (opened 2022) and 70 percent at Homewood Suites offering roll-in showers, compared to less than 20 percent at older 2-star properties. Specify the exact accessibility features needed during booking, as select suites may come with additional accessible bathrooms or visual alarms.
- Expect 85 to 120 Mbps Wi-Fi, but avoid video conferencing after 8:30 PM as median download speeds can drop to 35 to 55 Mbps due to high resident occupancy. For higher bandwidth needs after 8:30 PM, consider using co-working lounges or business centers in major hotels.
- Skip housekeeping every other day, as 68 percent of mid-tier and higher hotels like Hampton Inn or Residence Inn offer rewards or bill credits for reduced linen changes, saving $15 to $18 USD per stay. Ask at the front desk how rewards credits are posted, as processes differ among chains.
- Tap water in Wellington Municipal supplies meets EPA standards, with no boil alerts issued between 2020 and 2024 and fluoride and chlorine levels within WHO limits. Most hotels also offer in-room filtered water stations for guests preferring taste over tap.
- Avoid long-term parking fees by using free shuttles from Wellington Station; Brightline’s West Palm Beach station offers $12 USD per day parking with complimentary shuttles to 12 nearby hotels (minimum 15-minute ride). Verify shuttle schedules directly with your hotel, especially during event weeks, as frequency can change.
- Tip housekeeping $2 to $5 USD per night, as this is not standard in base service and surveys show it improves room attention such as restocking and tidying. Many hotels now provide envelopes or tipping QR codes for guest convenience in full-service properties.
- Monitor mosquito advisories July to October, as 3-star and higher hotels report 50 percent fewer guest bites due to scheduled bi-weekly misting during peak Aedes aegypti activity. Pack EPA-approved insect repellent and ask at check-in about the hotel's latest misting schedule or protective amenities.
