Free breakfast and walking distance to other food options. This hotel is very busy due to its proximity to Heathrow; however, we had to take a £50 shuttle to get back to the airport since it's not so accessible.
cleaniness and customer support
My room was very quiet. I appreciate that very much.

Close to the airport
The hotel was very clean and the staff was pleasant. We were only there one night as a stopping over point between Chelsea Harbor and the airport. Didn't have an opportunity to view amenities. The Hoppa bus was very helpful in getting to the airport.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 6-8 weeks ahead for stays connected to Heathrow. Slough hotels experience 25-40% rate increases within three weeks of arrival due to high transit demand; booking earlier secures lower rates. For clarity, consider well-known brands such as Holiday Inn Express or Premier Inn linked to Heathrow or Slough.
- Choose hotels within 400 m of Slough Station, such as the Ibis or Travelodge, for 12-18 minute direct train access to Heathrow Terminal 5. Hotels along the A4 corridor may see 20% more noise complaints due to traffic; these routes are generally accessible for most mobility needs.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at hotel front desks. DCC can add 3-7% in hidden fees; always choose to pay in GBP to avoid overpayment. If unsure, ask hotel staff for the GBP payment option.
- Confirm step-free access explicitly, even in newer hotels. Only 38% of Slough hotels list full step-free routes to bathrooms, and 'accessible' rooms may still have shower thresholds greater than 7 cm. Request written confirmation or a photo in advance if needed.
- Skip tap water in older accommodations if plumbing was installed before 2020. Around 12% of buildings constructed before 1990 in Slough may still have lead service lines; use filtered pitchers or bottled water, or ask reception for filtered water or quality information.
- Use train Wi-Fi for remote work rather than hotel connections. GWR trains from Slough offer free Wi-Fi with stable 18-25 Mbps speeds, while hotel Wi-Fi averages 8-12 Mbps and slows after 8 PM.
- Decline 'premium view' or 'executive floor' upsells. There is no verifiable difference in 90% of cases, and room assignments rarely reflect these upgrades, potentially leading to a 15-25% overpayment. Ask for upgrade details before paying.
- Pay with a contactless card instead of a mobile wallet at smaller hotels. Some older property management systems do not authenticate Apple Pay, but contactless chip cards have a 98% success rate.
- Avoid weekend bookings during Windsor events. Events like the Royal Windsor Horse Show or Half Marathon increase demand by 30-40%, causing rates to rise 22-35% with limited availability. Check event calendars before booking.
- Request upper floors facing north to minimize M4 noise. M4 traffic noise can reach 68-74 dB at ground level on the south side, while north-facing upper rooms can reduce ambient noise to 45-50 dB. Note this preference at booking stage.
- Verify if 'free parking' includes EV charging. About 70% of hotels advertising free parking do not offer EV charging, and dedicated EV spots may cost an additional £15-£20 (approx. $19-$25 USD) per night where available.
- Tip only for extended housekeeping requests, not standard service. Tipping £5-£10 (approx. $6-$13 USD) for same-day re-cleaning or linen swaps is customary; standard housekeeping is not typically tipped.
- Choose a hotel within 300-600 m of Slough station for London access. Trains reach London Paddington in 20-25 minutes off-peak, saving approximately £20-£40 (approx. $25-$50 USD) each way versus a taxi and avoiding M4 congestion.
- Use a taxi or prebooked minicab for Heathrow transfers. Transfers take 20-35 minutes off-peak and cost £20-£45 (approx. $25-$57 USD); prebooked licensed options often match or undercut street taxis. Always check minicab licensing before booking.
- Pick hotels along Bath Road/M4 near Junction 6 for driving and airport parking. Hotels like Holiday Inn and Premier Inn generally offer on-site parking and faster motorway access to Heathrow, saving time compared to cross-town transfers.
- Confirm parking policy and price when booking your hotel. Bath Road chain hotels may offer free parking, but independent properties might charge £5-£20 (approx. $6-$25 USD) per day or have limited spaces.
- Rely on Slough station's step-free access for mobility needs. Request confirmed step-free hotel entry and an accessible room in advance, as UK hotels often require prior requests; seek written confirmation if needed.
- Expect higher rates Monday to Thursday due to business demand. Weekend rates typically drop, but school-holiday weekends (Legoland Windsor, Windsor Castle peaks) can increase hotel prices; book 3-6 weeks ahead for these periods. Check local school calendars for peak demand dates.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) to avoid a 2-5% markup. When offered a DCC card terminal option, select GBP to benefit from your issuer’s exchange rate. Consider merging this advice with similar tips to avoid repetition.
- Check for Green Key or Green Tourism accreditation on hotel pages to verify sustainability claims. Many UK hotels use generic 'eco' language without third-party certification - look for official logos or request certificate information to ensure sustainable practices.
