Continental breakfast
Super Romantic! We got the room with the spa in room and the fireplace and relaxed with some local wine. La Connor is a cute town and we were happy that most shops were still open

Very quaint
I was happy that the room was bigger than I was expecting. High ceiling for upstairs bedroom was really great. Very quiet street and we couldn't hear other guests in the adjacent rooms. Bathroom was roomy as well. Fireplace was definitely a nice addition.

The room was nicely appointed and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Everything you could want already there, coffee, microwave, refrigerator and large TV. The staff was very friendly and eager to help.
The dedk staff are very friendly and welcoming, the check in was a LATE night check in which went extremely easy, and they still had cookies to welcome us. Due to an early check out to catch an early morning ferry, the desk staff opened their breakfast.
Extremely pleasant, capable staff; spotless room; convenient location and a total bargain. Excellent value.

Top Tips
- Reserve 8 to 12 weeks in advance for the April Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, as downtown inns often sell out. If unavailable, alternative lodging is typically 12 to 18 miles away in Mount Vernon or Burlington. For flexibility, select rates with free cancellation if offered, and verify if large-brand hotels provide shuttle service during major events.
- Ask for precise onsite parking capacity and rules before booking; many downtown inns offer zero to two private spaces, and curb parking is limited. Check if the property validates or partners with public lots, and confirm ADA-designated parking availability for disability placard holders.
- Request a measured Wi-Fi speed (target at least 25 Mbps download/upload) or ask which rooms are closest to the router, as coverage may vary in small B&Bs. Confirm if internet in rooms and public spaces is complimentary or if premium speeds require a fee.
- Ask about step-free access by confirming elevator or single-level room availability, as most historic downtown inns use internal stairs. Request an accessible room in advance, and check whether service animals are supported if you have a disability.
- Confirm your check-in window and late-arrival instructions, as many B&Bs and small inns lack 24/7 front desk service and use lockboxes or after-hours codes. Some branded hotels offer mobile check-in or digital keys; always provide your estimated arrival time if after dark.
- Expect heavier parking and traffic during April tulip season and on weekends; add 20 to 45 minutes to drives from I-5 exits due to congestion near town. Use real-time navigation apps, and check if the hotel provides shuttle service to event venues.
- Waterfront rooms cost more and may face early-morning boat activity on the Swinomish Channel. If sensitive to noise, request a higher floor or a room farther from docks; ask if the property provides blackout curtains or white noise machines.
- A rental car is strongly recommended for flexibility, with typical drive times of 45 to 60 minutes from Bellingham (BLI) and 90 to 120 minutes from Seattle–Tacoma (SEA), depending on traffic. Check local availability of ride-share, taxi options, hotel parking policies, and whether EV charging is offered onsite.
- Always confirm pet and service animal policies in writing, as many independent inns allow pets with fees and room limits. Ask about any weight or breed restrictions, and request details on pet amenities (beds, bowls, treats) typically offered at larger chains.
