location and price
Absolutely nothing, they're crooks and filthy. They charge almost 90 a night and it was repulsive.
Management/ Owners go above and beyond to help customers. It's next to main road and highway exits. Near frequented shopping areas RE: Sam's, Walmart, Ross, Marshalls, Dollar Tree. Venus Spa, Crafty Crab, Starbucks, etc ..

They have a little topping bar for you to put on your oatmeal or yogurt that contains cookie crumbs, granola, chocolate chips etc.
The hospitality was excellent
I did not stay at this hotel. It is not a 3 star hotel. The management/owner recently purchased the property. They are in a process of making it better. The property was a decrepit old hotel.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel 1-3 months in advance for peak seasons, usually April-May and September-October, to avoid 15-25% higher rates and limited availability at boutique inns. For unlisted blackout dates or local event impacts, verify rates directly with the property.
- Compare rates and amenities at hotels within 0.5 miles of downtown shops and restaurants such as Aunt Bea's. For lower rates, consider hotels along US-52 and plan for a 5-10 minute drive to main attractions and dining.
- Check Wi-Fi speed (Mbps) before booking if you need to work remotely. Rural B&Bs may advertise 'high-speed' internet but deliver under 10 Mbps; request a recent speed test from the property if exact numbers are not published.
- Pet fees at Pilot Mountain hotels range from $15 to $75 per night or stay. Confirm all pet policies, including weight limits, cleaning deposits, and off-leash rules, with your hotel before arrival.
- Expect most hotels in Pilot Mountain to lack onsite dining, so plan meals at local restaurants 5-15 minutes away by car. Ask about included breakfast or in-room kitchenettes if you have dietary needs.
- For the quickest trail access, choose accommodations on the western side of Pilot Mountain or along Old US 52. This can reduce morning drive time to the state park by 10-20 minutes compared to lodging on the east side.
- Double-check that your reserved bedding configuration (king, queen, or doubles) matches your group's needs, especially for families or accessibility requirements. Some motels offer rollaway beds for a nightly fee of $15 to $25.
- Expect state and local taxes totaling 6.75-7.5% to be added to your nightly hotel rate in North Carolina. For full price transparency, ensure your quote includes all taxes and fees.
